First grade, 'John Smith', a classmate of mine, for some reason not allowed to go to the restroom, peed in his pants while sitting in class. Sister Ann Paula got mad at him. She told John to take off his shoes and socks. Sister Ann then laid a towel on the floor in the front of the classroom and us. Sister Ann told John to sit on the towel. Sister Ann told John, loud enough for all of us to hear, "If you're going to act like a baby I am going to treat you like a baby." John sat on the towel the rest of the school day. Same Catholic grammar school. Lunch period. After eating lunch in the school auditorium/gymnasium, everyone is playing in the schoolyard until lunchtime period is over. I remember seeing a young girl, maybe in the first or second grade, standing still and crying. There were maybe one or two nuns watching us all to make sure nothing bad happened. Rest of the nuns/teachers in the convent next door having their lunch. The young girl was crying because the two nuns watching us would not allow her to use the restroom until lunch break was over and we were heading back to our classrooms. So the girl was crying. The girl's school uniform included a skirt. All of a sudden the young girl had a bad case of diarrhea. We could see it happening. The girl cried louder. One of the two nuns watching us did bring her into the school to I suppose help clean her up? Never saw the girl again. Her parents took her out of the school. Memories of grammar school. |

In preschool, they let the kid change and go on with their day. Kindergarten too. Not sure what happens after that. |
