Right, vonnie, and they are being asked to do the equivelant of what fed workers do, and have been doing for 30 years or so since Carter changed the way Fed unions work. You know who I do feel sorry for?? Those teachers and otherunion workers sitting home that do not support the protests and are scared to death they may get pink slips because the radicals refuse to adapt to modern reality. There are probably thousands of those people sitting this out, and scared to death. These unions don't care if jobs are lost, it seems, as long as their stinking union is not touched. And at the same time - having their union dues confiscated from their checks

As well as giving employees the right to opt out of the union altogether.

palm beach, I don't buy the excuse simply because you clearly stated that you thought "25 million" of those types would need to be rounded up and executed. No matter how you try to spin it, that's not the way we do things.
I also think it's a completely different scenario when it's some radical author saying that and posters on a message board.... you are the 3rd person I've seen here all for the rounding up and execution of liberals who hold different views and values than you do.

No spin here. Try to keep up. I said it sarcastically in reference to the video where Barack Obama's friend and colleague is shown to have been part of the discussion to do just that.

I keep hearing how the protesters are out there protesting having to contribute to their pension and healthcare. This is spin being repeated over and over .The union has agreed to everyone of Walkers concessions exept taking away collective bargaining rights. This is about union busting and collective bargaining rights,.Why no debate over the merits of other parts of the bill such as no bid contracts, the power to take fed funding allocated for the poor and spend it as the governor sees fit,or the power to change or end medical assitance programs without debate or advance notice? The media has done a great diservice to Wi citizens in their coverage.

Good grief, Paul! Rounded up and killed? Are you kidding me? That's waaaaaaaaaaaay over the line, man!
EDIT: As I read on, I saw you were satirizing; however, there was no indication of that in your post, Paul. Statements like that, satire, or not, are unacceptable. I don't really care much if somebody else said it before you. When you say it, it's attributible to you, and you're responsible for it. Only four-year-olds whine "He did it first".

No poster on this thread or board said it before palmbeachpaul. He was quoting an old video (see reply #54).

The media has done a great diservice to Wi citizens in their coverage. Yeah? And I keep hearing the spin that the bill that Governor Walker and the Wisconsin legislature put forth "takes away collective bargaining rights". First of all, there's no "right" to collectively bargain. It was granted by the government, and as you can clearly see- it can be taken back. Second of all, it leaves the most important collective bargaining option in place- unions would still be permitted to collectively bargain over salary and benefits. Third, the unions aren't worried about their collective bargaining rights- they know the bill does nothing to substantially change collective bargaining. They're scared to death of the provisions that protect union member's rights- specifically the right of a person not to join the union, making dues voluntary, employees getting a vote each year to sustain the union (or not), and the requirement that unions get re-certified every year. Unions want to continue their unchallenged monopoly-- at this point, the taxpayers have to stand their ground. If they lose this now, the taxpayers lose every battle for all time with the unions-- and the rank and file union government workers lose a whole lot more-- most likely their jobs.

Seems to me you're the one that needs to get over it. I was being sarcastic, you didn't get it, I explained it, and you're still yammering on about it. This is the last time I'm going to address this with you-- and I'm putting you on the list to go to the camps when I'm dictator. Jeeze!

CIVILITY ALERT! Video: Rhode Island union supporter to cameraman – “I’ll f**k you in the ass, you homosexual” A couple of Rhode Island's finest move in and generate a little revenue for the Governor at the end there. Think they let him walk?

That wasn't a very nice thing Rep. Gordon Hintz said to Rep. Michelle Litjens.
But at least Hintz didn't physically harm Litjens nor was Hintz charged with a crime like Arizona State Majority Leader Scott Bundgaard should (and hopefully will be) for bruising up his girlfriend Aubry Ballard. And for Scott to claim legislative immunity so he wouldn't have to go to jail and be booked for domestic violence as Ballard was is just unthinkable. Arizona Senate Majority Whip Steve Pierce could have covered for Scott Bundgaard while he was being booked.
It's one thing for presidents of the United States to have immunity from charges will sitting in office but quite another for a state senator.

Weak, Tenn. The guy said he would void the immunity, and take him in if he deserves to be taken in. I saw him on tv with 2 black eyes-- from his GF. Way to deflect from the idiot threatening the life of a Repub co-worker. That's what you guys do-- change the subject, ignore, deflect. Has this been on any channel except FOX and talk radio yet?? A public death threat by a Dem politician to a Pub politician?
