It's a great pity the right of free speech isn't based on the obligation to say something sensible.

While you might believe abortions to be murders, not all of us do, Paul. In the first trimester, we have an embryo. It is not viable. At this point in time, viability prior to 20 weeks of pregnancy is all but impossible, if not actually impossible. If the embryo, or fetus, cannot survive on its own, many, many people do not look upon the abortion of said fetus as murder.

Yay Montana, and other states resisting the overreach from DC. Wouldn't it be nice if half the states were capitalist and half were socialist, instead of our federal mix-match of capitalistic-socialism. And if half were open to social liberties, while half were restrictive nanny-states. We would have to develop a way for the capitalist states to purchase the assets of the socialist states after they collapse, but it could be fun.

Maybe you could use Mississippi as your model? The 'most conservative state' i read today... and they receive 2.02$ of federal funding for every dollar they pay in federal taxes.....
... feel free to take your conservative, resources draining, states... and go...

And what mother jones calls "woman hating craziness" is a step to protect unborn women from being murdered in the womb. I know it might surprise some of you to learn that there are those of us who are just as shocked and alarmed by the "baby hating craziness" out there as the "woman hating craziness" out there- with the exception that we don't advocate for the murder of women the way pro-abortion types advocate for the murder of babies. Call me scary, but I happen to agree with this one, and I applaud the efforts to extend the protection of law to all people, including those as yet unborn. Have you read the bill? The bill defines the fetus as a person from the moment of conception. This means that taking the morning after pill or even regular birth control pills could be considered murder. The bill has no language allowing for the abortion of ectopic pregnancies or fetuses with severe defects or when the mothers lives are at risk. All of these would be defined as murder.

One of my History Professors, Amanda Podany, was the Bass player for the Earlier version of the Bangles (1979 to 1981) She reunited with them in 2005 for a "reunion" charity show. Her historical emphasis is Ancient Mesopotamia and Ancient Egypt. She was brilliant and one of my best professors.

Just some points to ponder. I am not in favor of using abortion as a means of birth control when you get careless. However there are legitimate times when I see abortion to be a viable option as rape incest or a health issue. Keep in mind that the push to legalize abortion started long ago by the Eugenics crowd to decimate the black population by in many cases to force black women to have an abortion. The whole abortion issue does not have a pretty background.

Actually, abortion has been an accepted practice amongst women for centuries. A large part of criminalization (in the first place) was due to male doctors trying to squash the businesses of midwives. It wasn't even against the law until some time in the late 19th century (largely as a response to the suffrage movement as well).
Go read a history book.
