Very unfortunate. Time for Putin to step up to the plate and stop this nonsense.

Wow! Unbelievably sad.
My parents told me many things the Nazis did to the Jewish people during WWII. I would hate to think that history could repeat itself...

What are the odds any Secretary of State could make ìt work. Well one that's backed by a president that's willing to do more than make phone calls and finger wag would have a much better shot. So when do you want to send in our troops to fight the Russians? Or do you have another plan?

At first I thought this was a sick joke.
As I read the article it sounds like it is an unofficial militia (which is scary enough) rather than an elected government doing this.
Either way it's wrong, wrong, wrong!

So when do you want to send in our troops to fight the Russians? Or do you have another plan? Well we could all sit back and watch a remake of WWII, might be interesting for those that didn't get to experience it the first time around. So. You have no answer or other solution. Got it.

So. You have no answer or other solution. Got it. Well I sure as shit would be starting to look at the real possibility of military action. It seems to me that the buzzing of the destroyer was nothing more than a dry run to see what the reaction would be. But sure. Threats of sanctions seem to work well. I mean look at all the sanctions that have worked in the past. So you do not think military action has not been already discussed among and between NATO members and other counties in the area? Must governments share everything with Sroo before it is released to the general public?

Didn't Putin also name himself czar after Medvedev was elected? Putin is a very scary person and you're right.. he is just laughing at the west as he continues on with his plans of total domination over at least the former soviet union countries. his laughter should not provoke a response from us, imo. lots of people laugh at us. they usually end up regretting it.

Actually there was some sarcasm in that that statement. I think sanctions are fine and dandy for small countries that are dependent on the resources of others. Not so much when they don't. Yes some sanctions have been effective, but as you agree this would hurt others much more than it would hurt Russia. you're right. we agree on this.

I'm so happy that we have such a strong willed President, you know, brave enough to give his ultimatums to Putin.
Oh wait....I forgot......we don't have that do we? We have peace thru niceness, peace thru singing Kum-by-ya, peace by giving speeches that blame the USA for all the things that happened in the past.
Are ya'll still happy you voted for him?

and don't forget how he stood his ground on the "red line" with Syria, I know that sure showed Russia how serious he is about these types of things......
oh wait, he didn't hold the "red line"? And Russia actually supposedly helped Obama save face on that issue.....
hmm I really wonder why Russia thinks its ok to act up now

I just read about in on Facebook. Looks like history is repeating itself. my thoughts exactly. what scares me is that the world is full of such self-centered people these days that nobody will step up and do something about it.

Well, dj, he typed it in capital letters so it has to be true. I did post that picture in reply #28 of the West giving up Eastern Ukraine. Wait, that was a Ukranian giving up Eastern Ukraine.

Enjoy sitting back on the sidelines along with the rest of the world, doing what a broke nation does. Watching.

Ouch! Didn’t we just go thru this a bit over 40 years ago? Have we not learned anything? This history repeating itself is downright scary.
This is especially reprehensible in the middle of Pesach.
I do NOT see this as being China's war. They have NO interests in that region BUT US & EU do as they did just before WWII.

I do NOT see this as being China's war. They have NO interests in that region BUT US & EU do as they did just before WWII. China has MASSIVE interest in the region. Russia and China have already engaged in a short war in the past. I agree that the similarities between Putin and Hitlers playbook are stark, and I wouldn't listen to anyone trying to tell you otherwise. The big difference between WW2 and what is going on right now is that WW2 spread into the Mid East, whereas this one is spreading out from the Mid East. So while Putin thinks he can restore pre WW2 soviet power, all he will accomplish is more destabilization. China has interests all across the Eastern world and I'm sure some might be interested in: -More to Expect from a New Type of China-US Military Relationship-Xinjiang chairman vows to stop religious extremismI have been watching China move closer and closer to intervention in the Mid East for the better part of three years now. Bottom line, you don't have to take my word on any of this, as it's all just a matter of time. Try to stay , is my advice.
