•Race •Color •Religion •National origin •Age (40 and over) •Sex •Familial status •Sexual orientation (in some jurisdictions) •Gender identity (in some jurisdictions) •Disability •Veteran But outside of those things discrimination is apparently legal. And one restaurant owner in Seattle is out to prove it. It is being done by refusing service to the TSA "patter-downers". upgrd.com/matthew/seattle-restaurant-bans-tsa-agents.html

So what's the point you are trying to make?

I liked one of the comments on that page. The person commented that instead of banning the TSA the restaurant should only serve them drinks in 3 oz. cups.

No point, Tennesseer. When I don't have anything to say, I sometimes, like others, say it here. That's all.

I heard about this. Interesting. So if lawsuits start flying based on gender, race, sex, age, etc.. it will all come down to the same old same old, huh?? The only one that can get legally thrown out is the average white man. (I'm joking, right?) ANYWAY-- this is an unusual way to stand up against an infringement on our rights, and could be interesting to keep an eye on. I bet some group somewhere is trying to find a way to say they can't do this. Lots of rude people are going to be very angry.

Someone should do this for DMV (MVD) workers, too. They are SO rude, for no reason at all.

I actually feel a bit sorry for the TSA employees. They have a thankless job in an attempt to keep the airline passengers and skies safe.
If I were unemployed and the prospects of immediate employment dim, and someone offered me a job as a TSA agent today, I would take it.
Fortunately this is in Seattle. There is more than one restaurant in town.

How do you discriminate against an illegal alien? Do you mean you ask people for their 'papers' before they buy a cup of coffee? Or do you mean you take a good long look at them and assume they're alien before you reject them... cause i'm thinking that one actually might fall under another catagory.

My question is how would you know if it is a TSA pat down employee in the first place if they are not in a uniform. Kinda silly.

Some of them yes, however others seem to love the job because of the position of power they think it brings. On the way home after a job interview 2 weeks ago, I was going though security in Orlando. This female TSA agent was positioning all the carry on bags moving along the rollers going into the xray machine. As one man who was about 3rd in line took off his shoes the agent (in a very loud voice) said "Don't remove your shoes until you are up here" and pointed to the 1st person in that line. (no please/thank you...just DON'T) About 45 seconds and 5 passengers later, a woman traveler who was 3rd/4th in line took her shoes off and put them on the rollers. Well you'd think the TSA agent had spotted bin laden himself. In close to a shout "WHAT'S THE MATTER WITH YOU PEOPLE, DON'T YOU LISTEN...I SAID DO NOT TAKE YOUR SHOES OFF UNTIL YOU GET UP TO THIS POINT. While I watch this, the line I was in weaved back and forth for the next 10 minutes until I got to the actual security area. During that time she lit up at least 3 more travelers for taking their shoes off against her policy. That's one TSA agent who should be fired or maybe transfered to a womans prison as a guard. (then again maybe she was a prison guard before joining the TSA)

I have a neighbor down the street who works for TSA. Not as a frisking agent, though. He works on their airplanes. He always wanted to work on airplanes and he finally hit the big time , , , working on TSA's airplanes. Since he got the job, and if the wind is blowing from his house toward ours, we can always tell when he gets home. The neighborhood smells like an outhouse.
I asked him one day , , , as he was going to work, not when he was coming home, , , if he liked his new job and he just beamed with excitement. So I asked him what he did that caused him to bring home such "perfume". He said his job was to go under the airplanes in the rear part of the fuselage and open a hatch so he could empty the toilets, and that sometimes they were so full that they spilled, and that he hasn't learned yet how to get out of the way of the spilled effluence.
When I asked him if there wasn't some other job he could do for TSA than empty airplane toilets he seemed hurt. He said, "What? And give up my job working on airplanes?"
We try to time our meals to be over and done before he gets home.

Maybe instead of emptying toilets he and his TSA peers should be making sure people aren't sneaking onto the planes. The news was once again talking about the kid who snuck into the landing gear of a plane in Charlotte only to fall out as the plane dropped it's gear for a landing in Boston. If the kid was lucky he had already frozen to death or died from lack of oxygen. If he survived that he certainly wasn't up for the 2000+ foot drop from the plane. I find it difficult to believe that while the traveling public is putting up with naked scans and aggressive pat downs a terrorist could gain access to a plane through a hole in the fence surrounding an airport.

By the way, vonnie-- you understood me correctly. Tenn-- you do not know me at all. You have been posting against me for years-- we have never one time talked off the board-- except the PM you sent me telling me you could ban me for a PM just like on the board. Nobody here knows me, certainly not you. Kofi knows me best, and he is not here. Back to regular programming...

Are you serious krickitt? I and hundreds of others posters know more than we ever cared to know about you. And you penned it all for everyone to read.
Or did you forget that?
Now 'Back to regular programming...'
