I know Miss Tequila does. I'm sure she'll give it to you when she signs back on. Yep, I've done it a few times. I will have to look for the actual recipe but you basically soak the almonds for at least 24 hours (I think I do 48 hours) and then blend with water to the consistency that you like. It was very easy and I used the almond meal for cooking.

Yeah, you need a really good blender to do this. We've got a Vitamix, which I'm guessing you do do because I think they start around $375.

Since I don't have energy to look it up myself, why are we drinking almond milk rathr than cow milk? It is healthier or something? I'm on the WIR Get Fit thread and I switched because the almond milk has less calories that regular milk. It really helped me cut down on the amount of empty calories I was wasting with my coffee every morning. I drink the vanilla unsweetened on my cereal for no other reason than I think its just yummy!

Non-fat milk - 100 calories/cup almond milk (vanilla, unsweetened) - 40 calories/cup.
I use almond milk with my instant breakfast and in cereal. I also use it in black tea. I made the switch purely for calorie reasons. I would not have been able to do it if I hadn't slowly (as in over the last 20 years) worked myself down from the 2% milk I grew up with to 1% to non-fat.

I mostly just keep it around for cereal so I love that it has weeks longer shelf life than regular milk. But I did try to use it for instant pudding once & the pudding never thickened.

Why have I not tried this magnificent food previously? OMG, it's soooooooo good. I made a smoothie with almond milk, banana, ice, and baking cocoa Oh! I never thought of this before. I love milkshakes but am lactose intolerant. I was trying to find lactose free ice cream to use instead, but this sounds like it would work just the same. I am so trying it as my favorite milkshake is banana and chocolate.

I've been drinking almond milk for a few years. Almond milk, a scoop of chocolate protein powder, a few drops of vanilla and a few ice cubes. Blend until smooth. Tastes just like a Wendy's frosty! Come on! I always hear people talking about how their protein drinks taste like milk shakes and I just have to believe they have never actually tasted a milk shake before. There is no way that a shake made primarily of almond milk and protein powder tastes anything close to a Wendy's frosty.

My kids would drink the entire half-gallon of that in one sitting if I let them, @familycfo!
And that Dark Chocolate one is rich, so I could see it making something comparable to a frosty, @davebo.

I love almond milk but I actually prefer the unsweetened hemp milk for cooking savory food. It has a nutty taste like the almond milk but I find even the unsweetened plan almond milk is a little sweet.

I've been using Almond Breeze for about 2 years. I drink it in my coffee and on my cereal. It's a bit thicker and has a sweetness to it that I like in those. But I can't just drink a glass of it.
However it is quite nice with a shot of Bailey's in it.
