I don't see them all the time, but the DT around here occasionally has 8 packs of Sunbeam batteries for a $1. We always have AA and AAA on hand for the electronics.

I LOVE my Dollar Tree! I end up getting quite a bit of stuff there. And it's nice to be able to get in & out much faster than at Walmart or Target.

. Shooby do you check the spelling on the packaging to see if it's a true Hershey? - or to read just where that "Hershey" bar was manufactured?
It could have come from a plant in India or Pakistan - or China. READ THE LABELS.
Chocolate also goes old (often crystalizes). How long has that "Hershey" been sitting on the Dollar bargain store's shelf?
I foolishly bought a couple of rolls of "Lifesavers" candies at a Dollar store here a few years ago - the candies inside were NOT Lifesaves. They were shaped like Lifesavers, the packaging was a little "off color" (not trademark label colors), and the candies inside were not the true original "Five Flavors" - Orange, Cherry, Lemon, Pineapple, Lime.
The candies were faded pink, purple, dark green, and off-white! THey tasted absolutely disgusting - and went straight to the trash-bin.

What I usually buy:
Greeting cards including Xmas Allergy meds. The same package as at Big Lots for less. Bismuth tablets in individual packets. Mustard. Louisiana hot sauce. Animal crackers. Tree lights battery operated.
Used for homemade insect repellant: Lavendar spray cologne. Lavendar lotion. Eucalyptus lotion and spray.
Reading glasses for every spot in house. Garment bags to store winter clothes. Laundry bags. Holy Bibles when the church is doing a drive.
Fabuloso.
Impulse buys.
Maple leaf cookies - I haven't bought in a while.

I've never had issue with food items there. They sell the name brand theater-style boxed candies and some other name brand staple items that I've tried with no problem.
