"I would like to see teacher salaries and benefits cut...I prefer getting people in there that are passionate about teaching, not their paychecks, benefits" Read more: notmsnmoney.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=politics&action=display&thread=3750&page=3#ixzz1EnpmhozDWe grossly under-pay teachers and we grossly over-pay bankers, financiers, lawyers, politicians and economists. If these folks were as passionate as teachers, perhaps dropping their pay to near-poverty will be painless. Let's do it today and see what happens. There are THOUSANDS protesting the WI government in brutal weather. My guess is-- not ONE of the above-mentioned pariah would even get out of their car for 10 minutes to make similar protest. Even if their future depended on it. Ha! Most people don't have the TIME to get out of their car and protest, because the average worker whose salary and benefits average $61K a year are too busy WORKING to PAY TEACHER'S an average Wisconsin teacher's salary and benefits of $89,500. That, and they'd get fired for faking sick to protest their employer. If I wouldn't get banned, I'd have said, "you're a dumbass" and left it at that. Instead, I had to compose a thoughtful reply. Be thankful for that. I am a teacher, and guess what? I PAY TAXES TOO!!! Teacher's are not exempt from paying taxes.

That and the new Sabres owner, and Freedom in the ME- Obamahhhh! Time for the "For example?" question. For example? I didn't hear anything in that call that Governor Walker, who is supported by a majority of likely voters nationally (it's interesting there has been NO polling of Wisconsin voters specifically, so that tells you something right there), hasn't already said publicly. After the fake caller suggested violence, Walker joked he had a Louisville Slugger with his name on it-- but that's about it. Not much different from union thug Trumpka talking about things needing to get a little bloody in the streets.

No. You pay your benefits? No. Give me those three exemptions and I'll gladly pay my federal income taxes out of what I get paid in taxes from my community. Get real.

I always paid payroll taxes and into my pension when i taught. I was not exempt from fica. I paid 3% into my pension. Most of the time i had health insurance free... it was a major medical plan with a deducatable i never met, but i was covered and it did pay for childbirth. The last year i had a ppo... i did contribute, minimally...
