And I am dreading going out to check my garden to see what if any hail damage it sustained. I can see my hanging baskets from the window and poor old plants are beat down but I know they will bounce back. Ok, I have been putting it off long enough so out the door I go So, how bad was it?
I used to live in Ill. and I well remember having hail storms!
So far, we have just had lots of rain. All the really rough stuff has missed us, but there is more to come.

Beat my zucchini plants pretty bad. I'm wondering if I can just cut the stems off where they are broken and hope for the best. Several stems on tomato plants broken off to but rest look ok. Knocked all the blooms off my eggplant but plant is OK. Yellow squash faired much better than zucks. Edaman (sp) beans down in the dirt but I think they along with green beans will perk back up with a little sunshine. Just have to wait and see. We rarely have a storm here with hail so just have to wait and see how things do. I think some of the damage is due to really high winds and torrental rain all at the same time!! But push come to shove, I'll just replant I'm ever the optimist!!!

At least it didn't sound like most things got stripped like I've seen before during hail storms...in Ill.
I should be picking peas again in a few more days. I pulled out the last of my radishes yesterday since we are getting too hot for them now....up into the 90's the last few days. I pulled some onions & carrots to go with my pot roast last night....they were GREAT!!! Some maters are blooming. cukes are planted & up. Think I'll plant some cantaloupe where I pulled out those winter cabbages. Spring planting of cabbages are starting to head. Celery is looking good. More onions will need pulled for curing soon. And it won't be long until the taters will need dug down here. Green beans & corn & sweet taters are all looking good.

Hey there kadee79. Sounds like things are going well with your garden. Maters are finally putting out lots of little green babies. Had a lot blown off but looking good right now. I have picked a few squash but not sure plants really recouped. Taters are looking good too. Eggplant - not so good. Funny thing is we have had a lot of really cool nights and then hi's pushing 80's. Not our normal weather here this time of year. I think my garden is suffering from confusion Beans loaded with blooms so there is hope...
