And speaking of CVS, it appears that I'll be going in there by Sunday. They not only sent me a $4/$20, but they also asked me to take a survey that paid me $15 in EBs!!
The only thing that I can think of to get right now is some goo-be-gone. DH mentioned last week that we're getting toward the bottom of the bottle. I'm off to look at the ads to see if something catches my eye.

I tried corporate, they could care less. And I think he somehow figured out it was me that complained because he confronted me the next time I came in and made sure I knew what HIS policy was. Pretty sure I've only been back a couple times to pick up meds for DD when I absolutely needed to, but we even moved our scripts over to Walgreens because of it.

Sam814: Actually, corporate probably did care if they called him. I'd contact them again, ask to speak to a supervisor and let them know how he confronted you in the store. That is "bullying" behavior and does not have a place in their stores. Let them know you transferred your prescriptions because of him. That will get their attention because they make a ton of $$ from scripts.
My upstairs flooring is finally being put it. It's been interesting, to say the least. Home Depot changed companies that does their flooring installation. What a difference--they're horrible. I cancelled the installation and asked for a refund. In talking with the HD gal processing the refund, she indicated that they are not getting good reviews re the new company. Seems to be a case of a higher up at Home Depot knowing a higher up at the new company. I loved the guys that did my downstairs--so good. I'm happy with the new contractor I hired so all should be done by end of day tomorrow.
I mention this because I ended up at Target to give the guys some space while working. Here are my deals:
Finish power&free dishwasher tabs: $5.39 2 pkg. Dove ice cream bars: $6.08 1 3pack Quaker granola bars: $1.00 1 20ct carefree liners: .94 2 Clorox 2 pre-treat stain removers: $3.98 2 Market Pantry 1.5 qt ice creams: $5.58
Minus: .10 bag credit $1.00 Finish Target q $2.00 Finish IP q $1 Quaker insert q 2/$1.50 Dove IP q's 2/$1.50 Dove Target q's $1 Carefree IP q 2/$1 any Clorox 2 product IP q 2/$1 Market Pantry Target q's .39 Red card discount
Total OOP: $8.09
I then went to Rite Aid: 2 Kellogs Mini Wheets: $3.98
Minus 2/.75 Kellogg's cereal q's (from their rewards program)
Total OOP: $2.48 These packages have the free movie ticket logo on them. With 6 you get a free ticket; or with 3 you get $5 concession credit.

Re the power of coupons (even these days): I was in the dish cleaning area of Target and a lady was purchasing the liquid dish cleaner. She was looking at all of them and said: "my goodness, $5 for dish liquid! How's a regular family supposed to survive?" I lifted my hand with my coupons and said, "with these!" I pointed out the Method liquid on sale for $3.19 and gave her a $1 q. She went through the whole spiel about "not having time to clip them", "forgetting them at home" etc. etc. You guys have heard all the excuses. She was done with her shopping, as was I, so we ended up in line together. I told her I would usually let her go ahead of me because she only had the one item but I wanted her to see first hand the power of coupons: When she saw my total of $8.09 for all the above, I think she was convinced that coupons are "money"! I spent a few minutes explaining how it works (couldn't do much more as my ice cream would melt) and where she could get the coupons.

Sam i would file complaints w/CVS as many times as it took to get that bully of a mgr OUT. He has no business working at a place that REQUIRES decent customer service. I am lucky. Both my local stores have nice mgrs who bend ovr backwards. One actually came from BIG retail grocery chain. Also, his wife is a BIG couponer 9has to be w/4 kids) so he understands and LOVES coupons. He laugh's at my bottom lines

I went to CVS yesterday to use my $4/$20 and $15EB and my trip was a bust. I was going to buy $15 of L'oreal (buy $15/Get a $5 EB) and the Honey Bunches of Oats as a filler ($2.59 ea./Get a $1EB) to get me to $20. Then I was going to take the $6 in EBs from Tran. #1 to get the Right Guard body wash (2 for $6/Get a $2EB). I was going to take the $2EBs from Tran #2 and buy (2) Palmolive which are $.99/ea. so I wouldn't have to go back. Besides, Palmolive is my fav and 99.9% of my stockpile is Dawn. Apparently L'oreal doesn't make a shampoo for blondes anymore (or my store no longer carries it) and they were OOS of the Right Guard body wash; I walked out empty handed. Oh well. There's really nothing that I need from CVS. I guess that why I still have a boatload of GCs from 2011/2012. Maybe something in the 4th of July ad will catch my eye.

I did a few unexpected deals this week. At Meijer I bought 2 summer tops @ $16.00 each. Sale was b1go$1 and I had received a $5.00 mperk on women's clothes and I used a $3/15 mperk. With tax I paid $9.61 OOP for 2 tops.
At CVS I got the free 8"x10" photo collage, saving $4.49. I only order these when I can get them free. By the way, the quality of the photo was NOT nearly as good as the ones I get at Walgreens. A good thing this was free.
At Kroger I got 5 Secret deodorants for $.29 each after buying 5 and using 1 digital and 4 MQ's. I also got a Samsung track phone for a gift for somebody for $9.99 I received 1000 fuel points for buying the phone. That's a dollar off 35 gallons of gas!
At Hobby Lobby, I saved $3.20 and spent $5.10 OOP after 40% IPQ.
My sister gave me a bunch of Colgate MQ's so I will be doing the free Colgate this week at Rite Aid and CVS. The blogs are saying there will be a $3/15 oral care CRT but I don't trust getting it with my card. I keep pulling out crap CRT's. I remember I used to get a long strip of coupons a couple of times each day. The red machine is stingy with my card so I will probably do shorter deals. It'll be nice to roll ECB's right away instead of waiting 24 hours like you have to do at Rite Aid.
Dancin, I too miss the HI deal at Rite Aid this week. They wonder why their front end sales are so low. I burned most of my UPs this past week on groceries and I have $8.00 in UPs left to roll. I like being able to use my UPs on eggs and if I can keep rolling at least $3.00 in UPs, I can get 2 dozen eggs for $.18 OOP.

Dancin: I think coke 12 pks are on sale for $2.88 at CVS starting Sunday. The $15 EB and $4/$20 CRT would get you seven for a good price. Even better if you were able to get the $1/2 peelies that were on 12 pks during Memorial Day weekend. I always try to time my coke/pepsi deals around the holidays. Safeway used to do a mix/max b2get3 free. I'd use 2 free q's from Coke rewards and get 2 diet coke w/lime and 3 diet pepsi (my fave). They haven't done it in awhile--just the b2g2 free for only coke.
DD1 is getting married in January so in anticipation of her shower, DD2 and I combined to get her a Kitchenaid Artisan 5qt mixer. They're normally $449. On sale at Kohl's for $349 and I had a 30% off Kohl's q along with a $5 Kohl's reward. So we got it for $239 plus tax. Got $40 in Kohl's cash which I used to buy myself a new pair of Lee capris and DH a new pair of tennies.
Re shampoo: John Frieda has a line specifically for blonds.

I miss the HI deal at RA, too! I was hoping to get a couple cards for DS. He and his g/f just bought a house. I'm going down south to help her paint the kitchen and dining room. It's currently a deep red so we'll have to prime at least one coat--maybe two--before we get to the new color. Fun!

I saw that deal, but unfortunately I'm not a Coke fan. My drink of choice is diet Dr. Pepper. Another good time to buy soda is around the Super Bowl. I remember the Safeway deals on soda. One year when they were having B2G2 a lady in front of me was only buying (2). When I told her that she could get (2) more for free she told me that she didn't want them; but if I did, to go grab (2) and she'd give them to me!! I got her name and address and made a donation to the food pantry in her name. I know about the John Frieda line for blondes, but unfortunately that was not the brand offering EBs this week. It's not like it's a have to have as I still have a few tubes in my stockpile and I only use it occasionally, but it would have been nice. Oh well.

Murpath, did you check to see if there was a rebate for the Kitchenaid? We did practically the same deal a few months ago at Kohls as DS1 is getting married in a few months. I believe my rebate was $30.00. I used that for part of my soon-to-be DIL's shower gift. The rest of her gift I got with my swagbucks.

FreeSalsa - we are moving also. Does your city have the yellow & green paper recycling bins outside of the schools & churches? As long as it's been dry recently that's not a bad place to "dumpster dive" for packing materials. I think I may jump back in to the CVS/Wags game once we get moved. We are moving over to the city with the NICE CVS stores!! They take expired ECB and everything Our current city treats people like criminals and limits us to 4 coupons TOTAL (including ECB) per TX. Just because the manager is a PITA. Grrrrr. I have some diapers left in our stockpile, but I've realized that Baby J will need more than the 3 packs that I have And our supplies of HBA items are finally starting to dwindle after 3 years of being in "grocery game retirement". Thanks, Sam. That's a good idea. It's always dry here so I'll see if I see any of those dumpsters that are unlocked. I am sorry to say that you will find the grocery game much changed. I hope you won't need too many more diapers (more than the three packs you have left!)

Wow! Looks like some of us are doing well lately, even with the meager deals.
I think I am done with Vons/Safeway. The prices listed on the blogs are hardly ever what they are in my store, it's always more for me. I tried to do the Naked Juice deal but one of the Qs didn't come off and I knew I'd have a heck of a time explaining it to them so I just returned them. If they had had my favorite flavor I might have worked harder for it but they didn't. Since I was there, I thought I'd look for something for dinner that night. Their produce is more expensive than Sprouts. The deli salads left much to be desired. I like their $5 Friday offers but they are out of a lot of them by the time I get there, which is a bit out of the way no matter which one I go to.
And the last straw is the Kraft sliced cheese I bought just two weeks ago. I rarely get it because of the price. Then when I went for the sale it cost more than what I thought it would. But I got it anyway. I just opened it, well before expiration date, and it was moldy inside. I quit.
I had a big to-do with a Sprouts checker last week. Normally they are all very good about coupons and since my favorite checker was MIA again this week I just picked someone at random. Long story short, I spent 15 minutes with her and two other checkers explaining that they owed me $2. And she lost one of the coupons I gave her so I had to give her another one so I could only get one of the item instead of two. I won't be going to her lane again.
I returned the Woolite, a CVS brand Airborne, and a CVS box of sandwich bags. I got cash for the Woolite, full price, and store credit for the CVS stuff since it was after 2 months on one and I had no receipt for the other.
I looked in my Swagbucks account and found 3 more CVS GCs there. I wonder if I forgot to mark them as used or if I really haven't used them yet. I have to check.
Blah, blah, blah. Have a great weekend!!

I rolled my UPs at Rite Aid today. I bought 2 Colgate TP @ $3.19 each (gold discount) and 2 Colgate TB @ $2.99 each. Sub-total was $12.36-$4.00 MQ's-$8.00 UPs= $.36 + .87 tax for $1.23 OOP. I got back $10.00 in UPs (3.00+3.00+2.00+2.00) for a small MM.
If I go to CVS this week, I'll try to do the TP deal there too.

Wm had them on sale $3 a 12 pack. so my order today came to $38 but used a $3 mq for coke and $30 in GC from Swagbucks. Oop was $5 I can live with that I got turkey mince over $3 lb Dixie plates 84 for around $10... Don't you get sick of washing plates Fruit Deli meat And swiffer dusters. But I got it anyway. I just opened it, well before expiration date, and it was moldy inside. I quit. I shop very rarely at Safeway these days unless I have a $5/20 and can put it to good use or I see a decent deal (for these days) on something that I can't get at the GO or 99 Cent Store. I look at the ad prices and most of the time I shake my head because they are so high. I guess I've just gotten used to the GO and 99 Cent Store prices. But in spite of that, our monthly spending on groceries has definitely gone up. I used to get a lot of our grocery staples at CVS for free - condiments, soups, snacks, nuts, tuna, soda, tea, coffee, etc. It was amazing while it lasted. And I think more people are catching on to The Grocery Outlet. I've still gotten some products at ridiculous prices, but not nearly as often as I used to. The Naked Juice deal didn't work for me either. I decided to try it at the self check out and if it didn't work, I'd cancel the order and, yeah, it didn't work. All I can think of is that maybe they fixed the computer so that you can't stack the coupons (B2G2 and $/$), because it supposedly worked for the gal who posted it. Did you save the package of cheese? That's one of those occasions when I'd take the product back and get a refund; but if Safeway is out of your way, it's probably not worth it.

Target seems to be ok right now in the coupon game and Walmart online has a decent price on diapers so I can just order there when needed Sent from my SPH-L710 using proboards I have one CVS in my town and I was having the same problem during the last 6 months (or so) that I shopped there. I had an incident where I spoke to both the manager and the district manager who both claimed that things would change, but they didn't. Within a month or two after that incident, CVS stopped issuing $/$$ on a regular basis (which is what made most of my scenarios free), so I decided it was time to bow out. There was no reason to put up with the negativity toward couponers and/or pay OOP for what I had already stockpiled in abundance for free. Since I've stopped shopping there (which was 18 months ago), I've read that things have changed in terms of how much stacking the computers allow, so it you've been out of it for a while, you might want to bone up on what they allow and what they don't before you start putting together scenarios.

Is A Full Cup still a good resource? I used their forums and the HCW coupon database before (was an insert filer, not a clipper).

rubyslippers wrote: Murpath, did you check to see if there was a rebate for the Kitchenaid? We did practically the same deal a few months ago at Kohls as DS1 is getting married in a few months. I believe my rebate was $30.00. I used that for part of my soon-to-be DIL's shower gift. The rest of her gift I got with my swagbucks.
Thanks for the tip, rubyslippers, but no active rebate right now. That would have made this a really GREAT deal. I was going to wait until around Thanksgiving because Kitchenaid stuff is manufactured at a factory in the town right next to ours and they always have a factory sale on all the products made there. If you get there early enough, they've been known to have the mixers for $179 or so. But I really don't want to fight the crowds and I have a sneaking suspicion that low price is on the lower end model--not the artisan that she wants. Although, as I said before, I still only have a hand mixer. Wish I had my mom's kitchenaid. That thing was indestructible.

I had a dr's appt. yesterday so I decided to pop into the Grocery Outlet because it was on my way home and I hit the jackpot!! This is what I got:
(4) 12 oz. packages vacuum-sealed, bacon wrapped fillet @ $2.99/ea. because yesterday was the last date of sale so they had a $2 OFF sticker on each package
(4) 16 oz. packages of Oscar Mayer bacon @ $2.50/ea.
(2) Ball Park franks @ 2/$.97. They weren't the all beef variety.
Because I shopped yesterday, I think I'll be staying home tomorrow.

Monday seems to be a great day to go to the bread outlet store. Arnold breads the ones with the bits on the top...usually around $4 a loaf all on close out for $1 each. I got 2 for us and 3 for a gal at work who I know struggles. Our offices drink loads of soda as we are not shy of collecting cans(some would look down on this).......I cashed in $7.50 of cans this week and it more than paid for all our nice bread! AND she was thrilled with "free" food...me....you know i'm kinda used to free. Oh as a side note, every penny i have gotten from can collecting is in a special bag adding up $123 and counting!!!

I bought a wide-mouth vacuum sealer from amazon for $9.99 using my swagbucks to pay for it. I vacuum packed 8 jars of salad that I had cleaned and cut up last week and they stayed fresh and green for 8 days. I noticed (too late) that one of the jars wasn't sealed and was visibly discolored after 5 days. I'm trying to cut down on food waste, especially with my greens. I got lettuce on sale for $.69 a head and I mixed that in with my romaine and some of the lettuce from my garden. I have enough salad made for over a week and it really simplifies the salad-making process by making one mess at one time. I also used it to vacuum pack many of the dry ingredients in my pantry.
Dancin, you got a really great deal at your grocery outlet! I have one package of bacon left that I got awhile back that was $2.49 lb. The sale prices aren't near that good lately.
Hopetoberich, I save my "can money" all year and use it to help pay for gardening expenses.
I will be going to Meijer this weekend to do the buy 10 get 1 free deal. I will be using a $1.00 MQ and a 5% mperk to get 11 items for $8.50. Since bread is part of the deal, I will stock up and get bread for the freezer. Items will end up costing $.77 each.

That's why I decided to grab (4) packages. The last time I bought Oscar Mayer bacon at the GO, it was $1.89/lb., but I don't know if I'll see that price again - or for quite a while anyway. I'm just kicking myself for not buying more of the Hebrew National all beef franks last year when they were $.50/pkg. I thought I was getting a boatload. They are so much better than other hot dogs that I guess we ate more than we normally would have. I bought them last year toward the end of the summer; hopefully I'll see something similar this year. I priced them at Safeway and they were $5.99 for the same package - a package of (7) dogs!!

Guess it is meant to be. Midwest grocery chain has had turkey burgers on sale for $6 last & this week. I also have a $1 coupon. Store is a bit off my beaten path but $5 is the price I used to pay on Safeway $5 Fridays & I only have a few left in my freezer.
