Debt, I did find my pants that morning it just took 30 minutes of digging around. That's what I get for storing them in the bathroom on the window sill. It was a handy spot to sit them at the old place. (Obviously I don't have lots of clothes lol)

I am writing stuff up tonight and getting it out of the house before I drive down to see mom this weekend. Wish me luck.
I had to write my brother and let him know what has been going on. I finally mailed out his xmas card with the letter yesterday. I'm sure I will be getting a collect call next week sometime.

Beth that is a good point. I'll see how it goes, I won't force it. I've made a lot of efforts to read very little these past few days. ETA: Beth I redid the schedule to do it over 4 days instead of 3. Thanks for pointing that out. I want to finish by Dec 19 since that's DS3's last day before Christmas vacation, but I have more time if I need it. Marks are due 5 Jan. ETA: Beth, how is it going with your teeth? I had the molds for the last 2 crowns done on Wed (in the end he decided to do 2 rather than 3). I have an appt to get them put in on Wed, but I have to call first to make sure they've arrived. It will be my 28th appt since April! I'm on hold until Jan. I decided to switch insurances so that I can all the crowns done in 1 year without having to shell out large sums of money. Thanks for asking!

Snapdragon, good luck! DS3 and his friend who is here for the weekend decorated the tree this morning so the box of decorations is out of the LR. The marking should be OK but it's taking me a lot longer than usual because I'm taking lots of breaks for my eyes. Marking Weeks 50-51:Fri: 58 exams (grammar) 58 exams (vocabulary)Sat: 21 essays Sun: 18 essaysMon: 19 essays
I'm also keeping up with laundry and dishes but nothing else.

Need to get back on here to hold myself accountable! Hope to get a tree today, decorate it tomorrow, finish up some shopping, and START wrapping. Although this year there is less wrapping to do, fewer gifts I think.
I am sure the next 2 weeks will be craziness for most of us, hang in there everyone!

Busy morning so far but the sun is out and I have a full day to finish up my list of chores!
The backyard is still a soggy mess due to the 3" of rain we got but at least I was able to 80+ gallons of water in the storm drain.
I've been pricing new gutters and think I'm going to buy all the materials in January and get my dad to come up on a dry weekend for the install. Part of the problem I have at this house is that the yard slopes in which means water settles in the side yard and around the foundation. Since the gutters are 30+ years old and rusted through in several places that turns my sidewalk into a moat. I put out trash cans and buckets but on heavy rain days the gutters outside my office can fill up a 30 gallon trash can in 2 hours.
The new gutter plan includes 3 rain barrels to collect water and - I'm excited about this - a downspout that will go across to the fence and water my flower boxes.
But for now I'll just be planning and saving up.
Adding 6 more to my total for the year since I got rid of that many paint cans +1 for the framed picture I gifted to a friend last week. Probably won't hit my 2014 goal but every little bit counts.

CL, how do you like your new place? I know the "digging out your moving boxes" phase seems to last FOREVER.
I finally got started on the Christmas cards last night. Except for getting Bad Boy Puppy to the vet this morning, I'm sticking close to home, as they've changed DS's prescriptions, & it's safer that he be at home in case he doesn't react well. So, I've got both the dishwasher & washing machine going right now. Later I'll try & get some baking done. We need to power through to Christmas!

Now that I counted 936 more items to make my goal this year I'm looking around the house trying to find that many items I can toss in the next 2 weeks Cleaning out cabinets in the kitchen is an easy place to start but I might just have to bite the bullet and sell all of my scrapbooking stuff in order to come even close to that goal (I haven't done a scrapbook page in probably 3 years...). The boxes for Goodwill are filling up so I'll be able to get that dropped off this weekend. The consignment place took 14 of my items and so the rest is going to donation. Weekend list: Dog #2 get shots, update registration, toenails clipped take old paint cans to the for recycling water from trash cans clear out the glasses and mug cabinet finish painting kitchen ceiling attempt to take down kitchen light cover take clothes in for consignmentreinstall the vent in the kitchen Wash and reinstall the kitchen light cover vacuum living room wash and rehang kitchen curtains clean the master bathroom sink take donation to Goodwill

I am making slow progress on my deep clean of the house for the holidays.
Today I cleaned the fridge. I removed all the shelves and washed them, went through all the condiments in the door etc. This afternoon I took down all the light fixture globes/covers and washed them. Replaced 3 burnt out lightbulbs while I was at it.

Did the weekly grocery shopping on Friday, then today DH and I went out to a tree farm and cut a small tree which is in the stand in the LR and ready for me to decorate tomorrow. Also bought a few more gifts this afternoon, so tomorrow I will not leave the house and I will bake, wrap gifts and work on the tree.

Ugh! DS is crabby this afternoon, so I just told him to go take a nap. (He got sleep-deprived too last month from wearing that heart monitor. I'm hoping he's just tired, & not getting sick.)
While he's resting, I'll try & write up some Christmas cards. If I get some of them done each day, I should be able to get everything in the mail by Christmas.
The bill pile is getting big again, so I supposed I should take a look at that, too. I thought computers were supposed to make the world a paperless society. I get so many junk emails now, that I just have paper copies of bills sent to me, so I don't accidentally miss something important.

Busy, I am the same! My adult DDs cannot believe we still get the paper bills while I pay them all online: also feels like a backup for me. And that is also why I have so much to shred, we keep it all just too long.
I have done laundry, baked, some wrapping, made dinner, but not yet worked on the tree! Will do that this evening. I am so productive when I decide that I am not leaving the house.

Well the kitchen light cover is cracked and nearly impossible to re-install so I'm going to touch base with the electrician and get his insights on replacing the fluorescent tubes with can lights.
Doing a little clean up in the living room today and attempting to wrap presents if the dogs don't get in the way. I have a bunch of little things that I need to buy next week and then I'll be done with shopping for the holidays.

The bathrooms got a good deep cleaning today. I didn't wash the walls and ceiling but that wasn't really on the list. I did get down on my hands and knees and scrub both bathroom floors and the front entry way. The shower was scrubbed down with that stinky bleachy shower cleaner. It was nice this afternoon so the car got a little lovin. I didn't feel like unwrapping the hose bib and getting a hose down so it got a bath at the car wash. After that I went down the road to a do it yourself car wash and gave it a good vacuuming. They have better vacuums at this place. All the pine needles and wood chips, from hauling Christmas trees, are now gone, alone with the assorted kitty litter that always leaks out of the bag on the way home from the store. Four minutes sure doesn't last very long at $1.25 a pop. It took 12 minutes worth of vacuum time to get the car cleaned out. This evening I finished vacuuming the living room. All the cushions have been vacuumed and the various assorted crud that ends up under the cushions is gone. Didn't find any change. I took the little crevice tool and vacuumed along the baseboards. The baseboards have been dusted. The hallway and the bedrooms still need to be vacuumed and the kitchen floor still needs a good hands and knees type scrubbing.

Well, I got 17 Christmas cards written up, & I paid 3 bills to make it an even 20 before I ran it all over to the post office. The problem is, I didn't realize there was a really fine mist falling until I had pulled out of the driveway. There goes my car wash from last week. Oh well, highway driving would spot up my car anyway. We've had a lot of melting going on here the last couple of days.
You all are doing SO well on your house cleaning! Can I borrow one or two of you to clean so I can finish these cards? I've got at least 2 or 3 more days-worth of cards to write up.

I haven't started on cards yet. But the Arbonne Party I held last night was a success on several fronts. :-) Ok, the tree is up. Lights go on today/tonight. The lot I bought it from (Boy Scouts at my Church have done this for at least 40 years) had flyers up for Jan. 10th. A nearby park is offering to chip/mulch anyone's tree for free. You just show up with the tree. They'll give you your mulch back if you want it or keep it for the park if you don't. I'm thinking they should have a couple of shop vacs there so people can vacuum out the pine needles.... Living room, kitchen and both bathrooms were cleaned in prep. for the party. A few minutes a day should maintain most of that for Christmas. We host an open house type thing for family on Christmas Eve due to my MIL's insane insistance on seeing her grandkids open every present they receive. And Santa comes on Christmas Eve in my family. It's the one family tradition I brought in. And I am NOT carting all the kids gifts from us and Santa around on Christmas morning. She wants to see them opened, she can come to us. DH agreed that since he can now get his preferred water in bottles here (instead of shipped in from California), he only needs 4-5 bottles to reuse. So I dumped at least a dozen bottles into recycling this morning. Also got 2 grocery bags of outgrown kid clothes out of the house. 1 bag to a classmate of DD's and the 2nd my parents will run to Goodwill for me. We also sorted though mail - we found 2 checks from Oct. buried in the clutter. Will get those cashed ASAP.

Well I got things written up and out of the house Sunday. I was just DONE with not having any room in the living room. I had to get feisty with the cat because she couldn't figure out I did not want her in the donation pictures. Than I made Pomegranate Fudge.Of course I forgot it this morning so it is still in the fridge. I really want fudge now. I drove down and had a decent visit with my mom and than drove back home on Saturday. There was lots of ground fog and I never really saw the sun...it was mostly covered by clouds the whole time. It was very eerie. So that is off my plate until after the holidays. I really don't want to drive down for at least a month.

I'm sort of enjoying the new place, not getting to see lots of it yet. I should have taken more time off to move/clean. I think we are finally done cleaning and getting all the crap out of storage from the old place. Mom lived here before I did so there was crap she owned in the back end of the storage shed. I spent tons of time on the floors and almost none on anything else. The textured walls look awful but landlord's talking about selling anyway, not sure he cares. I'm over it at least The new place is an apartment on the ground floor, the living room looks presentable, as does one of the kid's rooms and a bathroom. I suspect most of my empty boxes will be used to haul stuff off to donate.

DD is still trying to get an internship lined up. Boy, they sure leave you hanging until the last minute! But, if she gets where she hopes to be, there's a Costco within walking distance, so today I became a member, & put DD's name on the other card.
DH also informed me he's added to the Christmas card list, so I had to go get more cards. Luckily, Hallmark had emailed me a coupon for $5 off. So, there's a Hallmark close to Costco, so that was my next stop.
Finally, DS has been putting holes in his socks like CRAZY. I don't have a JCPenney nearby, but, since I made the drive to Costco, there is a JCP on the next block, so I used a $10 off coupons for DS's new socks.
Now I have to wait to pick DS up from school, & I'll get back to working on those Christmas cards. DH is currently in charge of the holiday baking until I get all of those cards mailed off.

I think it is safe to say I will not be making it to 2,014 items gone this year I had the baby on October 17th. With the baby comes all the baby gear to clutter up the space. As he gets bigger and outgrows some of it, it will start to look better. Got a ways to go though. He is only 8 weeks lol. I'll be joining you all again in the new year! For now, I'm just going to try to maintain the chaos at its current level.

Thanks for the tip, saveinla! Other than their bakery & pharmacy, I'm a total newbie to Costco. There's nothing like a new adventure.

I didn't get as much cleaning done today as I had hoped. Mom and I ended up making an impromptu trip to the coast for lunch and shopping at the outlet malls. My Christmas shopping is pretty much done, now I am just waiting for the wrapping fairy to show up. She is probably out hiding with the cleaning fairy. I am down to one bedroom left to vacuum. I also started the Christmas cards today. One more day off from work so we shall see what I can accomplish tomorrow.

Finally got the Master Bath sink cleaned today (hard water sucks!) and just in time for chaos tonight. UPS is delivering my new couch at some point and I have a dinner date with a friend this evening. The living room is relatively clean but I probably won't be able to assemble this thing until Wed at the earliest and then I'll also have a spare couch to store for another month or so.
