Sharing Floss? Disgusting. So introdcing bacteria from someone else's gums to your gums seems like a good idea. This pennywise/pound foolish.

Truthfully, in some cases I save money by spending more. I have never found hair products that work as good as Aveda. Generally speaking I have to use more to get a not as good result if I use drug store brands. I would see if there's an Aveda institute near you. The one by me has 20% off products during their December open house, and you can usually combine that with their Christmas buy $100 in gift cards get $20/$25. It's how I stock up after they got me hooked on it. Spent $200 and got a years worth of product and also have enough money left over for a couple services (already paid for a haircut and pedicure, have enough for a massage/facial left.)

All these things ya'al stocked up on....watch the expiration dates, especially on OTC meds. When they get old they can either loose their potency or the chemical composition can change. I don't over stock on things like that!

Honestly the best way to save money on HBA's is to marry a woman that doesn't use them much. Not using lotions, facial creams, skin treatments, hair dye, cosmetics, and whatnot is always cheaper than trying to buy them on coupons, stockpile them, and whatnot.
Loop does have a small makeup bag for those few occasions when she wears a bit of makeup. The majority of the time she wears exactly what I wear. Clothes and deodorant. Saves a bundle.

Toiletries doesn't mean just makeup.
There's dental products, bar soap, shampoos/conditioners, body-wash/shower gels, deoderant, cleansers, moisturizers, exfolitors, razors & blades, shave cream, body/hand lotion, etc etc etc.

Neither of us use lotions, exfoliators, hand cream, shaving gel, or some of the other stuff you mentioned.
We use toilet paper, shampoo, soap, deodorant, q-tips, and toothpaste. That's it.
Drink a lot of water, eat somewhat decent food, and get a little exercise, it'll keep your skin looking better than any lotion or potion on the market.

We wash our face with soap, and your skin moisturizes itself if you're drinking enough water.

You don't shave or use deoderant? Or A cologne/aftershave? Or liquid/bar body & hand-soap? Those are all considered "toiletries". So is toothpaste as well as shampoos/conditioners.
Anything you cleanse with is considered a toiletry.

. just drink enough water.....and I still didn't get an answer on sunscreen - I certainly hope everybody is wearing it....and since you're supposed to wear it on your face every day of the year, most people use a moisturizer with SPF)... he had deodorant, soap and toothpaste in his post....but nothing about razors or razor blades....

I don't wear sunscreen, unless I'm going to be in the sun for a long time. Like a trip to the beach, water park, or whatever. I work indoors, I see no need for sunscreen every day.
I did forget razors in my post. We both use those. No shave gel though. Loop shaves in the shower. She shaves after soaping up with body soap which is all the lubricant you need. I shave with hot water.
Neither of us uses cologne, aftershave, or perfume.
I subscribe to a less is more approach when it comes to ingesting or rubbing weird chemicals on my skin every day.

I only use sunscreen at the beach. Otherwise why? We don't get enough vit d and u need the sun to absorb it. I think u are far better off to soak up some sun and acclimate to your home climate. However I don't lay out but if I am out gardening or something I don't cover up.

Good thing you don't ski. If you didn't use sunscreen, you'd look 80 before you were 50. I always apply a light layer of sunblock/sunscreen - even in winter - the glare from the snow can magnify the UV - especially if the sun is shining.
I don't want to look like a wrinkled prune in my old age - my mom at near 90 had fantastic skin - thanks to taking care of it.
Even when I went to Hawaii, I used sunblock/sunscreen - still got a tan, but at least I didn't burn or expose my derma to unnecessary UV. And yes, working in the garden in summer, I still take precautions when out in the sunlight.

You two wear the same size? I guess you do if she wears what you do. Isn't she a little embarrassed about wearing mens briefs?

We wash our face with soap, and your skin moisturizes itself if you're drinking enough water. If you're out in the cold biting wind, you need moisturizer and lip balm. You also need moisturizer if you live where the temperatures have been quite cold, the heat is on 24/7 and dring out the skin.

I said I use it to fit the occasion. If I am going to the local swimming pool, here in PA, I can acclimate to the sun. I don't "lay out' to tan. That isn't my thing. But, if I am outside being active, I don't put it on. And, I dont' put it on my kids. We usually go to the beach for a week in July so when we get there, we slather it on. I found that it made MORE sense to not sunscreen my kids at home, because then when we went to the beach, they would burn if the sunscreen wore off in the water or something. Now, they get a minor base tan and they tolerate the sun much better because some tanning has already occurred.\ But, as for me, I look damn good!

you do realize that no amount of tanning is healthy and any color indicates damage to the skin, right?

We all gotta die of something. I'd rather avoid that being losing my mind, living in diapers, and drooling on myself at 104 in a nursing home.
Ideally it'll be a brain hemorrhage or something else sudden and quick while having sex with 20 year old twin gymnasts when I'm like 70.

I'm not so sure about the sudden and quick part.

Think it through. She has to live with me. Like for real. The stress will kill her way before I'm 70.

yea the spend more to save more theory as a single customer purchasing products. it does get confusing for me because if I buy more of the product it will last longer and costs lees than purchasing single item at a time. then the flip side if I just purchase the one item which costs less now - then just purchase it again when it runs out. so I guess I save either way? No, if you just buy one item and wait until it is nearly gone---When you go back to the store either the price has increased or they don't have any more. if you see a sale or great price-- better to stock up.

I agree with Peace, especially for products that you know that you use regularly and especially for non-perishables like toiletries. Pick up a couple instead of one; then you open the last package, start looking for another sale on the product so you're never "caught" paying full price. The spend more to save more approach is not a "theory"; it actually works. There was a time not so long ago, when you could " spend nothing (except a little time and effort) to save more" by using coupons and drug chain rewards as currency. A lot of the products we were able to get were toiletries - body wash, razors, hair products, etc., but we were also able to get a lot of household products like laundry detergent and bath tissue. A lot of the Grocery Challenge gals are still saving money today by shopping from their freebie stockpiles instead of at the store.
