oh yeah, we have those skirts Moon - she does wear those mostly, but when she's in a regular skirt she's having "modesty issues"

You could just quit making her wear skirts.

Kid's clothes are the wife's call, CL -- i don't care what the kids wear...as long as they wear *something*! :-)

Just a suggestion, it'd be a lot less work for you and your wife.

Contrary to honey bbq's interpretation of my quip, my kids (DD is 8 and DS is 7) still run around nekkid.
They're not modest around the family but they are around people who don't live in the house (which is a good thing IMO!).
They will occasionally take a bath together when they want to play in the tub but they generally take separate showers.
I asked DH these questions yesterday and he answered pretty similar to me. We haven't really thought about at what age they should stop running around nekkid, but I guess they'll stop doing it themselves when they feel uncomfortable. I guess I didn't understand? Is it the difference between preference and reality?

Yes, yes there is. ETA: There is only so much info one can convey in a quip. I had hoped people would recognize it for the bon mot it was intended to be.

We all wore shorts or leggings under our dresses for warmth & so we wouldn't flash the world playing on the playground. I never understood the argument that skirts are more "modest," but that's my own issue.

Psst, Sam, bite me!
And I think the argument was when skirts were mid calf or lower and you had a bazillion petticoats.

I think my kids were about 7 or 8.....Once they could bath/shower on their own and get dressed... that's what they did. Though I'd run the bath and demand they got in.... ...and look behind ears to make sure it was done properly. As for skirts.... daughter wore grey/black thick tights under her uniform skirt for school.
