She still sings about babies and precious moments, right?
Probably not banned.
Although the lyrics "my heart will go on" could offend cardiac patients. She might not make the cut for 2013.

Well, good for you. Make sure and call hazmat if you break one of those bulbs. They are toxic. Just curious.. do you ever read anything that isn't from a conspiracy theory site? You do not need to call hazmat for a cfl any more than you do for a broken thermometer.

Ones that suddenly pop out of the printer and poke you in the eye.

Mercury is the only major toxicity issue for CFLs, as we noted in a recent blog entry on the technology. Many manufacturers have been able to reduce the mercury content to less than 5 mg per bulb and are working on further reductions.
It’s worth noting that even though CFLs contain a small amount of mercury, they still contribute less mercury to the environment than incandescent bulbs. CFLs use only one-quarter to one-fifth the electricity that incandescents do—the less electricity produced at coal-fired power plants, the less mercury gets spewed into the air.

What can I do to get my whites whiter and brights brighter? The clothes always look dingy.

The fact that you stated that liquid soap does not desolve while washing points directly to a hard water problem. If you get frustrated try putting a disposable mineral filter in the water line. You can get desposible replacement cartriges at HD or Lowes. Might check you water heater temp, it should be about 120 degrees. And try running the hot water for a couple minutes in the nearest sink. By the time many people pre-rinse the dishes it is more expediant just to do it by hand. And less cost.

Mercury was a messenger, and a god of trade, the son of Maia Maiestas and Jupiter in Roman mythology. His name is related to the Latin word merx ("merchandise"; compare merchant, commerce, etc.), mercari (to trade), and merces (wages).
Therefore, liberals love trade and wages.

Actually, I recently read an article that stated if you are using a new dishwasher, that is energy and water efficient, it uses less water than if you wash by hand. Less energy if you use the air dry option.

Tennesseer: If you want whiter brighter clothes quit rolling around in that red Tennessee clay. actually get some Borax 20 mule team whitener and add to your soap. The best dish washer I have found and has lasted 52 years, works cheap and does a good job. She does get a bit cranky some times and I hope she never reads this or I will be typing inside a coffin.

Less energy if you use the air dry option. Ours is that type dishwasher, marjar, and we do use the air dry option. If I think there may be a good deal of grease, or the dishes are particularly dirty, I will turn on the water heating function to be sure its got the hottest water to wash them in.

I usually use the heat option, but I only run the dishwasher about 3- 4 times per week, on average. I'm stickler about clean dishes.

I run mine more often, marjar. Not that we two have that many dishes (two old ladies don't eat that much), but the cat dishes and glassware needs doing. I probably run mine every other day, and find it gets thing quite clean without the heat function, most of the time.

CFLs use only one-quarter to one-fifth the electricity that incandescents do—the less electricity produced at coal-fired power plants, the less mercury gets spewed into the air. This is a misdirection, and not even a clever one. At issue isn't the mercury in the atmosphere at some number of parts per billion, at issue is how much mercury is released into my living room, or kitchen-- DIRECTLY into my environment-- contaminating my home and threatening myself and my children? And why? Because Thomas Edison's light bulb that has worked for well over a century, and still provides superior lighting to newer technologies, was banned by politicians that are supposed to be working for us. Don't worry, though. We have a Republican Congress now, so things will be better. Oh, wait-- it was a Republican idiot that wrote the law, and Republican President that signed it into law, oh-- and look, Republicans just put the aforementioned idiot on the Energy Committee... upton.house.gov/News/DocumentSingle.aspx?DocumentID=217114And Republicans wonder why the threat of TEA Party primary challenges still hangs over their heads for 2012...
