Paul and Rush, it's so nice to see a bromance bloom. ((Wipes tear)).

We mutually do it. Sometimes I do it because I don't want to say "hey nimrod!"

So Rush can pander to his crowd and spew a line of bullshit with the best of them.

Yeah, that was funny. For awhile i did believe him when he would say "Amy is one of my all time top ten female names". He really has a great sense of humor and wit.

Shows how different humor is for different people. I didn't find it funny, just kind of sad and a turn off. Looks like Rush giggles when he has a real hard time pretending he likes a woman's name.

I love Rush. I think he is a brilliant commentator and i love his sense of humor. And, some of the spoof songs he has on there are absolutely hysterical.

"I love Rush."
I think most of the regulars know that. I don't trust people who lie when they don't need to. If you are willing to lie about how much you like my name, I'm wondering how often will you actually say something truthful.
I only hear about Rush on this forum and occasionally when he says something awful enough it makes the news. More than enough for me. Kind of like Brittany Spears and Amanda Bynes.

Those of us who listen to him know and understand when he is doing serious commentary versus having a bit of fun. If you can't tell the difference, then i guess you wouldn't enjoy him. But, then again, i don't find Bill Maher funny whatsoever. I just find him rude. To each his own.

I only find parts of Bill Maher funny. He is rude and to me so is Rush. Again, it all depends on your tastes. I'm not into white lies and massive hyperbole just for the sake of it. Bill Maher I've only listened to as comedy usually on video. And I returned the last DVD of him almost totally unwatched because I felt he was too cruel. I don't listen to any commentators regularly. The closest I come is comedians who do political comedy.

SL, I meant people like Jon Stewart, Jay Leno, etc. Before posting on this board I did think Bill Maher was a comedian.
Rush is probably a political entertainer. I find him as funny as Sam Kinnison which is not very much.

Speaking of Maher- took a dig at Rush last show: Bill who? Oh, yeah- he's still on somewhere? I mean shit- say what you will about Rush, the man is primarily heard on AM radio and he has one of the biggest audiences in all of media. Jeff Bezos may be able to buy the Washington Compost for pocket change, but I don't think he could get Clear Channel for his whole $28 billion.

I find him as funny as Sam Kinnison which is not very much. You have no legitimate opinion on Rush because you haven't ever really listened to Rush. You are relying mostly on what others say about Rush- others who themselves also do not listen. This is not a guess- it's a statement of fact. Anyone who can draw a comparison between Rush and Sam Kinnison has never truly listened. Have you ever listened to a full three hour show? Even one? Undivided attention? The minimum to have an opinion, in MY opinion is 12 weeks of regular listening to AT LEAST the first hour of the show every day.

I can have an opinion on anything for whatever reason I want and so can you. I've probably listened to Sam Kinnison as often as I've listened to Rush soundbites. Its like Okra to me. I don't need to try more to know I don't like it.
We don't think alike at all when it comes to politics. The reason I used Sam Kinnison as an example was probably not at all what you assumed. My tolerance level for both is about the same. Its not that I think they are alike. I've listened to various peeps over the years to supposedly be fair and sample things, but I've found for me, it rarely pays off.
"You are relying mostly on what others say about Rush- others who themselves also do not listen."
This isn't true at all. My opinion is purely based on what I feel after listening to various soundbites and audios of Rush. Its really odd you think I would base my opinions fully or mostly on other people's opinions.

Paul, I'm afraid you don't have many "facts" concerning what other people might think, and you have even fewer "facts" on how they have come to the opinions they have. To think you do ... well, I'll leave that one lie dead, as it should be.

Well I have forced myself to listen to Rushbo several times while driving over the years. It is excruciating to me. Perhaps if I shared his politics it would at least be funny to me. But I don't. So all I see is the cruel, meanspirited bs, crap and spin- always spin- that he sputters. Oh granted, he is an intelligent individual, and makes some clever points and all of that. But a few bon mots do not excuse the crude and boorish monologue which I find makes up most of his droning monologue. But I will concede, he is not as bad as Beck. At least he doesn't cry on the air. I find him to be sort of like Howard Stern. But I think Stern is funny.

The Big Three to me are Rush, Mark, and Sean. If you don't know Mark Levin, you should. He is pretty much the intellectual firepower for all conservatism right now. He's the new Buckley, Friedman, and Rand all rolled up into one. I first heard of him when I read his book, "Men In Black". But he has written several primers on liberty, private property rights which harken back to, and re-introduce Locke, Bastiat, de Toqueville, and others- "Liberty And Tyranny" and "Ameritopia"- and his newest on the way, "The Liberty Amendments".

I don't care for Hannity or Beck that much, but I love Rush. Rush is great because he is a great entertainer as well as political pundit.
I don't know how he deals with all the idiot liberals though. That whole Sandra Fluk think was such a joke last year. You have a 30 year old activist (who happens to be in lawschool) telling a private university that they should cover BC because she can't afford it. I'm sorry, but the whole thing was ridiculous and Rush put that on display.
Now maybe you think that BC should be covered and that's fine, but the fact that Sandra Fluk was delivering that message as "a college student" was just a joke.

I've read the transcript. She was relaying sob-stories about women going to a $50K/year school and not being able to afford a generic birth control prescription. She gave one example of a person that had a non-pregnancy related need for BC and then she said this is actually covered by Georgetown insurance. haha. ? I'm sorry, but the whole thing was absurd. There probably was a point to be made there, but it shouldn't have been made by Sandra Fluk. The whole speech was so silly that it shouldn't have been a surprise that she was made fun of.

I'm indifferent to the attacks. David Letterman made a joke about Palin's 14 year old daughter getting knocked up during the 7th inning stretch. I don't remember seeing a sustained attack on his advertisers. Do you?
