can't really tell at times during the month I'm not big on eating out. but I really don't like paying for food I can make at home. so restaurants we really don't go to often and fast food I can skip and go home and make something. at home we are surrounded by places to eat and since we don't go out to eat there are so many places I would try out. meaning there are like 3 to 5 Italian restaurants, and more burger joints. as for my work area. there are plenty of places to have lunch. I would suggest to bring only a small amount of cash. so when your craving is just to difficult to control on a day you did bring your lunch. you will only have this little bit of cash to spend. plus you are walking to these places, and walking a little slower and go during a high volume time for lunch, eats away at your time for lunch. going to eat out during a high volume time means long lines, and that can chip away at your patients for even wanting to go get something to eat. congrats at getting the job. as time moves forward co-workers will get involved as they didn't bring in their lunch, but then you will have a small amount on cash to spend, and the lunch hour will go by fast!

Closest Fresh Market currently is 25 miles. I found chocolate bars there from Iceland to test for my blog. They were wonderful. Who knew there was a chocolate maker in Iceland? I did!!! They use real cream in their chocolate not milk and it is called Rjómasukkulaði which is Creamchocolate. I have never been a chocolate fan but I do like Icelandic chocolate.

It's a mix...I'd have a short drive, but I can get everything from awesome fried chicken and waffles to Asian noodles, organic Chinese food, tacos, deli and kickass burgers pretty close by. We also have two produce markets and an Aldi's nearby. Oh, and Trader Joes is coming next year - about 8 miles from my house. And a Fresh Market will be about 4 miles away, also next year. Unfortunately, there is a mom and pop donut shop about three miles from my house. I love Fresh Market. And we are getting a Whole Foods in the near future but can't remember the proposed date. We have eating places on every corner, chains, fast food and local folks. The choice is endless. I like all types of foods so it is just a toss up as where to go. The Fresh Market on my side of the world is freaking tiny and full of freaking people!!! Why on earth would you deliberately build a store that two of your teeny tiny buggies can't pass each other in the aisles

I'll try to give her a little slack since I had a kiddo that would not eat hot dogs or hamburgers but could scarf down oysters on half shell at age of 2. I thought that was down right unamerican

The kid was eating escargot with garlic at age 5.

Shanendoah - my old job was in a "wasteland" near where we live. Nothing but the typical ff joints, so most times I would go home to get lunch if I had forgotten it. Now I am downtown and within walking distance of practically anything I could want, or just a short drive out to the Westport/Plaza area if I am craving something different (and I can see them all from my vantage point which makes them really tempting come lunch time!). It's even worse now that I am pregnant since half the time when lunch rolls around I just can't stomach the thought of leftovers that I brought.

I am totally taking myself to Qdoba for lunch tomorrow. Mostly because I decided I was too lazy to pack myself a lunch tonight.
