busymom He is doing well. He knew not to eat the food. What if it had been someone not on the ball. They also had decided he was not allergic to cheese since he drank milk. Obviously he was not lactose intolerant. He has an issue with cultures like cheese and yogurt. They took the food back and serviced him yesterdays' leftovers. TheOtherMe I am sorry the hospital did not attempt to honor your diet and gave you a hard time.

Unfortunately, the hospital did it more than once. Each meal had a paper with what was on the tray. I am a lactose intolerant vegetarian.
I can handle small amounts of dairy, but not a container of milk or ice cream. I was served both.
I was served fish and Italian dishes with various types of meat. I sent every single one back. Then they wondered why I wasn't eating much. And, yes, I would end up with whatever was left in the kitchen and it was a big deal.
Hopefully it's a long time before I have to endure that again.

Dear Corporate America: So, you thought having fewer employees, and more computers, would work? And, now that the entire system is crashing & burning, how does it feel to know you actually need those humans to keep your business running well? Heck, in this state, you can't even file for unemployment online, as the system can't handle the number of people attempting to access the system . And, don't get me started on how many times I've been disconnected on the telephone, because the "work from home" system was never really tried until now. Thanks for planning ahead, Busymom

Dear work, Now that I have to work from home, retirement from my job cannot come soon enough. Talk about unprepared and throwing stuff against the wall and hoping it sticks.... Look, no one really saw all this disaster coming, I'll admit that. But you wanted to run a company that played nurse and babysitter to incompetent employees, rather than bite the ugly bullet, thin out that herd and hire dependable people. Now you get what you pay for.
The people who weren't working well at the office aren't doing any better from home (surprise!) and now trying to retrain them remotely or get them to adhere to office policies is almost impossible. Out of your reach, there's not much you can do. You fire people during a pandemic and you're looking at a lawsuit. They'll claim you used it as an excuse to them while the business was still operating.
This cannot be over soon enough for me. I want to work part time, with real adults again.

Stupid Mailroom at T ---
I can not believe that you deadbolted the mail room door because you were not working. It is much quieter and not nearly as busy to get the mail on a Sunday than a Saturday doofus. With the social distance I would have thought that it would have been very timely to keep it open. As a matter of fact there was never any supervision until the Corvid -19 erupted. It just seems so disingenuous.
Now I have to drive over there this afternoon when I was attempting not to have to do that.

To all the neighbors that I love, My apologies for this morning. I am only on my second attempt to run with music from my phone actually attached to my arm. I cannot wear an earpiece (nothing fits in my little bitty ear canal) so you were treated to "My Sharona" at full blast from my Android at 5:30 a.m. My bad. Could have been worse, though. "Baby Got Back (I Like Big Butts)" would have been vastly more inappropriate, in my case.

Dear Ebay buyer, The time to ask about alternate shipping options is before the auction closes. Don't bid, wait to win at my minimum asking price, and then tell me (not ask) to ship by first class package instead of the priority mail stated in the listing. If this item had qualified for first class, I would have listed it that way.
Signed, Annoyed seller

Dear Fellow Customers (especially at Wally World), Those marks on the floor are for a reason. Why is it, you'll stand & wait 6 feet apart, but when I'm trying to pay for my stuff, then suddenly you forget about keeping space between me & you, and suddenly be standing practically on top of me. Back off! Or, maybe next time, I'll cough your direction, and see if THAT gets your attention. Not a happy customer, Busymom

Not a happy customer, Busymom We have a lot of that here, mostly from the flag-waving, bumper-sticker-on-the-truck contingent who think it's not going to happen to them. I have heard these people snarl at store personnel who politely ask them to keep their distance from others in the store, walk the prescribed direction down the aisles, etc. Because, yanno, this is America. Land of the free, home of the dumb-ass humans.

Seriously people, did you never learn what an arrow means? never learn to follow the direction the arrow points? Or are you just going for being a dumbfuckasstwatdickface************ who can't be bothered to follow social guidelines? Are you so blind that you don't notice that on EVERY SINGLE AISLE you go down, everyone else has to stop because you are going against the arrows & also can't be bothered to wear a mask? I bet you see a one way sign on the street and just scream "fuck it"! and drive the wrong way too don't you? And somehow, shockingly, on the larger aisles where there are 2 lanes of traffic arrows, you STILL are going the wrong way on the wrong side! Is this your hidden talent and now you finally get to show it off to the world? Did you finally get smacked in the face with a bright lightbulb at the check out when a 4 year old told you to back up because you weren't far enough away from her? There was a reason why people across 3 checkouts all laughed when she did that. Because all of us had to wait on your snowflake ass to drag your knuckles & maskless snowflake face down every aisle the wrong way.
People suck.

steff What ever became of your aunt and Not My Uncle? I'd been gone for few years and had forgotten about them. Is she still driving aimlessly around the countryside? Settled down somewhere? Inquiring minds (nosey) want to know.

Like I said, this is America, land of the free and home of the dumbest fuckwits on the planets. It's all about me, me, me and it's only my turn and I am the only important one and I matter and I go first and .....you get the idea. There is no common good for some people because they are such uncommonly good and special snowflakes.

Inquiring minds (nosey) want to know. We're still tracking her around the west coast, but she is currently meandering her way East. She's currently in New Mexico. We're waiting to see if she makes a move South towards I10 into Texas or if she stays on the highway she's on, which actually runs all the way to Virginia where the other bat shit crazy branch of the family lives. We think she's probably heading to Virginia.
She's never said anything at all about not my Uncle in all this time. We're just having to assume that he has passed away at some point. There's no way to find out anything at all because none of us are blood relatives. And if he had still been living, I'm not sure how he would have done with his health issues, living in a nursing home & the Coronavirus.
The only way we know any of this is by following what little she posts on Facebook & her Google check ins.

Wow steff! She just dumped not my uncle? Poor guy. I had gotten kind of attached to him. If y'all are real lucky, she won't stop in on her way to Virginia. Does she have a...um...traveling companion?

What in blazes is she doing for money in order to survive? Is she doing the tin cup on the street or selling her body or is she a meth mama or what? Or maybe Uncle Not My Uncle was getting Social Security, and he did pass away and she never reported it and she is still getting his checks. I mean, if she is on the road, she needs a minimum of food, booze and gas. A lot of parks and hotels are closed, so where would she stop if she was not driving? And how would she pay for it?

At one point she posted pictures of some traveling "companions" aka, 5 other transients. they were going to somewhere in Oregon to work on a pot farm for a couple of months. Once it got cold/winter, they all bounced back down to california & again worked on pot farms. We do not know if any of them are still with her or not. Let's just say the picture she posted of everyone in the bus was...terrifying.
There's no way she would have been getting not my uncle's ss because it would have had to go to a nursing home. His SS & disability was his only income & nursing homes take that when there's no other money to pay for it. She also collects social security. She's in her late 60's.

Auntie Peabrain on a pot farm---- somehow that makes more sense than anything else I've heard today. And she must be selling something to stay afloat. Maybe she's cooking meth or making moonshine? The moonshine aspect makes the most sense. She could call it Mancatcher Moonshine. "It's got so much punch it makes even me look like a knockout."

Dear DF
I am really tired of you sleeping past noon.
I told you on Tuesday I was really craving a breakfast from our favorite breakfast place. Did you wake up early enough on Saturday to go fetch it. No.
Did you wake up early enough on Sunday to fetch it. No.
Thank goodness I will be allowed to drive soon.
I am really tired of the attitude. Whoa is me. Do you think I like all of the restrictions and working form home. No.
Currently hiding from DF and wondering how long it will take him to figure it out.

ners, do you have access to Grubhub, or DoorDash? If either service is available near you, I'd place the order myself. And, order just enough food for one. (That'll learn him...)

Not-so-DS2: I gave you a car, I allowed you to move back home, I am feeding and watering you until you go back to 'school' in September (you rented a house with a bunch of friends next to the college). DON'T piss me off within 48 hours of being home! I pay the damn bills!

Dear whoever-sent-the-good-karma, I've been wavering back and forth on the whole retirement thing. Until yesterday. The buyout offer arrived courtesy of my longterm health insurance company wanting to charge me an additional $200 per year for the same length of coverage. Their second offer: pay the same amount quarterly, but get coverage for fewer years. Their third offer: a five-figure cash offer buyout. Yeah, this decision was not that tough. I did scan the documents to my CPA to see what the tax liability is. Answer: none.
I just emailed my CFP to make an appointment to invest most of it, and to generate a steady and reasonable income stream. I will buy a health insurance plan with some of it, keep some as an emergency fund and continue to work part time and write freelance part time. Stuff I actually want to do, as opposed to working with lazy idiots all day and a boss whose idea of social distancing was to reconfigure the office so desks are 18 inches apart. Like that was ever going to be a good idea. My goal: have this all in place by August 1 and kiss that goodbye.

Dear Atty --
You cashed the check towards the end of April. Could you please finish up and send me paperwork so I can get it notarized and then it can be sent to the courts? I need to start moving and getting things ready to sell things with Dad's Estate. Waiting and going tortoise slow is not helping me any. I would really appreciate being able to take the steps needed to move forward.
Snap~
