Thanks , Rocky for starting this. I was busy with the kids next door because their parents went out of town. Lucky me . Anyway, I am done watching my 2 year old GS for the summer. update: 2 NSD.
I am going to get pizza for supper tonight and that will be at least 5 more meals, including breakfast, for the week. That cost will be $10 at Pizza Hut. They are having a box deal.

Update : 2 NSDs
I am in again. Today was a spend day as I picked up several additional items at WallyWorld. I am still in the midst of my massive cleanup/de-clutter marathon. I am managed to get a lot of items out of the house but I also know that I still have plenty of other things to still go through. Any progress is better than none. I hope to be finished the major part of this by the end of the week. I will still have a few pockets of stuff to do after the main cleaning purge but those I will do a shelf at a time as I know that it will take time. A lot of it belongs to my late DH and it will take time for me to process it.
Will post now before the boards eats my post again.

Well, I got my first NSD of the month. I organized all my large expenditures for June last night, parsed out my spending cash, and am ready for the month. Bring it on, June! Rocky Mtn Saver: 0 CSD/1 NSD

If it makes you feel any better, moneysquirrel, I have an entire room full of boxes left after the move, that I still have to sort through. It's amazing how this stuff just shows up, I swear I don't know how it happens!

I am at the public library because my computer is ill, and I can't get it in to the computer clinic just yet. Oh, well, I can use the time to save up for the repairs. Jereme will be finished at the college some time this week so it will be soon. I am already in withdrawal and it has only been a few days.
May sounds like a successful month. I only spent four times--other than groceries and bills--but some of the times I spent were doozies! I paid the contractor then I realized how shabby the furniture looked and bought two new chairs for the living room. They should be delivered this week. Actually, to be honest, the chairs were just old. I bought them in 1984 with money I earned working at a forest wildfire. When I realized they had served well for almost 30 years I didn't feel at all bad about dipping into the "house" savings account. And now that the bulk of the bad weather is over for the summer I visited the greenhouse and walked out with a bunch of flowers and herbs and tomatoes and peppers. And some seed packets. Everything looks beautiful right now. Maybe we won't get the drought we had last summer. Hopefully June spending won't be so costly. My time is up on this public computer. I'll check back in as soon as I get my computer back.

Everything is getting dumped into replacing necessities and debt repayment (surgery bills not covered by insurance) right now. As soon as that is taken care of, I am putting money in savings and as morbid as this sounds, a pre-paid funeral plan. Our local funeral home does a pre-paid service where it doesn't go up once it is paid for. I don't have life insurance and can not get coverage over a suicide attempt when I was 15, so this is something that is a smart financial move. I am having my body donated to science anyway- so it's just a memorial service and a plaque at the family plot that says "Don't Tread On Me" (I believe it is bad luck to walk on graves). I also am setting up several savings accounts. I am having to replace clothing because I am ungrowing my wardrobe. I am going the cheap route and going with the 20 garment diet.

update: 3 NSD, 1 CSD. I bought meds and stuff for supper tonight. That stuff is going to last a couple of meals so I am not counting it as eating out.

I have had 3NSD, just to remind everyone I don't count bills, groceries (as long as I stay within budget), pre-allotted expenses, or gas in spends. The 1st and 2nd I am almost always broke since I get paid generally on the 3rd (automatic 2 days ). Yes, I changed that from last year where I didn't start my month until the 3rd since on months where the 3rd falls on a weekend or holiday I get paid early. I probably could have had more NSD, however I owed MommaBear for overspending on groceries on her tab (although she admitted she LOVED the bargains I got, AND we got $1/gal off on gas thanks to bonus points). So instead of having me just give her $50 bucks, she had me take it out in items she wanted. MizBear 3NSD

Update : 4NSD and 1 CSD
Almost finished the housework and am beginning to have some free time to do some other projects. It is a good thing that the housework is almost done since my sinuses are beginning to revolt. Tomorrow I will be getting rid of several large boxes of items being donated. Will have to get up early to place them out front but I have been getting up early each day anyway in order to get as much done as possible before the heat builds up into the nineties. Have begun my usual practice of taking ice cold water with me as I run errands. Till later.

update: 7 NSD, 1 CSD, 1 eating out day. One more week of work, 8 hours, and I will be on vacation. I have a load of stuff in the other room to do so I won't be laying around the "pool" like some of my RL friends and online friends. I may go to the Sayers Dam for a few hours just to get away. I hope it is not hot like it was a few weeks ago. My electric went up by a hundred dollars because last month they estimated it and this month they read it. That sucks. But anyway, I hope to have all bills paid by the fifteenth. Then I can start saving for next month's expenses. And life goes on.

Update : 8 NSD and 2 CSD as of yesterday. I have no idea what I am doing as of yet today. I have finished the major chores I have planned but still have several things left to do around the house. Still have to go through the closet and weed the tshirts/tank tops collection. Hope to recycle several of those this summer. Also have to decide what I will be taking with me to the conference later this month so I need to get the luggage out and get travel items organized. Best part of this is that the conference and travel has been paid for by work.
I haven't started on my plans to get some additional beading done this summer as of yet but the ideas have been formulating in the brain and I hope to start that process later this week as I have a small show scheduled later this month and I know I have to get a few new things done.. I haven't made it to the gym yet either and I hope that this cough (allergies) will go away soon -- almost afraid to go to the gym with it. I need to clean out the car and it needs to be washed as well -- might count that as my exercise today. I will have to do it soon as the heat index is expected to be over 100 this afternoon. I have managed to get some recreational reading done and almost have a puzzle halfway done. Both of which I have little time to do during the school year.
Well if I am going to get anything done today I have to get off the computer and get a move on. Will check in when I can.

mizbear- 6 NSD
I should be all NSD from here on out except for one. I got roped into a fundraiser. (Hangs head) But that is about to stop. Looks like Bear is college bound again, fall of 2014!
Culinary Arts! I have some things to work out with the school and some things to work out with my Mom. Everyone please cross all of your paws, whiskers, etc....
I really want to do this. I realized that I have NO desire to sit at a desk.

what an interesting night. Three times the" FBI" locked my computer and three times DS said it was a virus. I finally had to wipe my computer clean and get it factory fresh. Good thing DS knows how to do that. I hope I am good to go now. We will see.

3cats- The same virus is what killed my laptop almost a year ago. I am at 7 NSD Update: I am gathering all necessary info in order to go back to school. I have discovered I hate sitting at a desk (something I guess really I knew). I liked the jobs I had in culinary and have decided to pursue culinary arts. I have talked with past employers, mentors and advisers. Now the school hurdles come. We are hoping that at least a portion of my existing credits will transfer. It will cut a portion of the cost if they will take the credits for my gen ed courses- which they will generally take anything passed with a D or better- everything I am trying to transfer is A, 1 B, and a C. 7 NSDMy one uncle who rarely speaks to MommaBear and I says that I have no business going back to school, that I am incapable. We won't go there....

mizbear - ugh your uncle sounds like a winner. You so should go back to school an dyou will kick butt at it!
I had an interview today for a more local job with more to do but a drier topic. But I'd get to write and edit and have my own office. We'll see if I make it to round two. I thought it went well.
Afterwards I went to Target and stocked up on diapers and got some PJs for DD for the summer. I also got a few clearance baby clothes items for them. I keep telling myself to stop and to let my mom buy all their clothes because she always offers but I feel bad doing that. And I can't resist baby clothes! Especially for DD. So many cute rompers... and I was soooo ticked I couldn't find my Target gift card that I know I had last week and I still can't find it so that will be so sad if I lost it. I keep losing things. I need to stop doing that.
Hope you all are well! We're dealing with like our 15th inch of rain this week or something nutso. We have a high water table already so the streets are getting very floody. Hopefully this is it for a while but somehow I doubt it. Really regretting getting rid of my rain boots last year...

update: 10 NSD, 2 CSD, 3 eating out days. I am on vacation this coming week and I know there will be some spend days but a couple of them are planned so I will not count them. I have plans to work on my other room and get rid of some clothes. I don't think a person needs 30+ outfits, top and bottom, for winter and at least that many for summer. That means I am getting rid of 15 sets of scrubs that I wore when I worked at a DR's office. I was thinking of selling them for $10 a set or $7 each piece. I know I paid at least $15 for each piece when I bought them. Anyway, I am working on that stuff and tomorrow I am going out to lunch with "my girls".

update: 11 NSD, 2 CSD, 4 eating out days. We went out to a very rustic restaurant and the food was good. I had a tough time choosing what to eat because everything sounded good. I opted for a cheese steak with fries. It was good but I think I could have been more satisfied with the turkey dinner. Next month we are going to a sandwich place called Penara Breads. I have had their sandwiches and they are good. I don't know what else they have so I'll go online and check it out. I am in a lazy mood today because it is to get hot but I need to work on the other room.

Rocky Mtn Saver: 5 CSD/3 NSD
Well, no new NSD's over the weekend. Friday was running some errands, Saturday was the local Renaissance Faire, and Sunday was dinner and a movie. We had a good time, and the weather was mostly cooperative all weekend (not too hot or too cold), so I can't complain too much. But I'm pretty broke for the rest of the work week.

3cats, Panera always has super yummy food. But watch out for their calorie counts, they can be pretty astronomical especially for salads and sandwiches!

Update : 13 NSD and 3 CSD I have been spending quite a bit of time at home during the last week and therefore my NSDs have increased. I think that this week will be slightly different as I have several lunches with friends/family plus few appointments in the works. Last week I managed to donate quite a bit of the free makeup samples I get when I purchase the items I do use to our local "Dress for Success" organization. I am so happy that those items are no longer cluttering up my space as well as the fact that I found a good cause that can put them to use.
I am beginning to get my stuff together for the conference I am attending next week. I have started putting things I know will be needed together so that it will be easier to pack later this week. I have already downloaded several books to my kindle but have no idea if I will have much time to even begin to start any of them. I have finished several books that have been hanging around the house in my to-be-read pile and will be passing them on to friends in the near future. I have been keeping busy with both house items as well as fun things and have even managed to get to the gym a few times. I hope that I can continue with that pattern as I know that I need to be more proactive in that aspect of my life. I did manage to get a few new beading projects done but have been slacking in that goal. I did finish one of the 1000 piece puzzles I have on hand. Will be passing that one on soon to DM as I will not be revisiting that one. That is the major reason that I have not finished as many of the other small projects I wanted to do, I had to finish it. I will wait several weeks before I even think about starting another one.
Wishing all of you a good week and will try to check in later this week.

I am anxiously awaiting word from the college regarding my acceptance or not and financial aid and how many gen ed courses I will or will not have to retake...
I will have to recount my NSDs as I lost count over the weekend.
I found out it is going to cost me $46.50 to get my SAT scores sent to the college! $30.50 for them to pull them off mothballs and $11 for them to send them to the college. Highway robbery!
