No and probably never. I just don't care enough or passionate enough. Hmmmm. NOTHING is worthy of your concern or passion? ![](http://syonidv.hodginsmedia.com/vsmileys/yeahright.png) What if the United States government (i.e., Obama and/or the C.I.A.) made it possible for Aristide or Duvalier to assume power in Haiti again?

My freshman year of College I joined in a rally by the Young Republicans against tuition increases. I went to couple of meetings after that and joined them in a MLB outing at the ballpark paid for by some rich "old" Republican. That was about it for political activism.

I've never been to anything like that. And now if it involves politics/fundraisers that sort of thing, I'm prohibited from participating due to my job. I cannot run in a partisan election and on and on it goes. We get bombarded with emails when elections are coming up about what we can't do. I fall under tighter restrictions than other feds because I work for an inspector general. The Hatch Act. That was my life for the over 25 years I worked at the IRS. No bumper stickers or anything the public could see. After I retired, I got active politically. I protested Nixon coming to the federal building where I worked by taking the day off. ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/wink.png)

No political protests in the traditional sense. I have joined other veterans and decent people forming a human wall between the Westboro Baptist loonies and a military funeral. Thank you for what you did. Those people are total loonies and I'm glad somebody was there to form a human wall. If one were to happen near me, I would do that.

I attended a political rally when Senator Paul Simon campaigned for the Democratic nomination for President in 1988. I was on vacation in the Black Hills and the rally was at Mt. Rushmore. It was a cold day and a small crowd and we really got to meet Senator Simon and visit with him all we wanted.

I attended the last large anti-Vietmam war at my university ( I think it was the last big one in the country ). I was there, but didn't fight with the police like some of the protesters did. I didn't get tear-gassed, either ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/cool.png) .

I went to a rally that was in my town for Al Gore. I didn't go to see him (though did vote for him). I went to see Jon Bon Jovi, who was tagging along. It was a fun experience.
