I have been juicing for about 2 weeks now and I seriously have never felt better. I have lost 5 pounds and have more energy.
Who else juices? For those that don't know what juicing is, it is where you use a juicer to get the juice out of fruit and veggies. Yes, I could just eat them, but honestly before juicing I never DID eat as many fruit and veggies as I am supposed to have.
For those who juice, what are your favorite juice combinations?
Right now I am drinking an apple, cucumber, basil, and lemon juice. It is really good and refreshing. Another favorite is red bell pepper, carrot, orange, and 1/2 a lemon juice. It is my favorite when I need a boost of energy. I also like kale, apple, celery, lemon, and ginger.
Also, what kind of juicer do you use? I WAS using an Italian brand juicer, but I just dropped it and shattered the top part. It looks like I am going to have to buy a new one. Grrr....

This thread could go downhill fast Please no! Captain-I find different recipes online. Or sometimes I just throw whatever veggies I need to use up into the juicer, cross my fingers and hope for the best. I found this blog on Pinterst and so far I have liked MOST of her juices. I didn't care for the beet one...I DO like beet juices, but I didn't like her version. 21 Days of Juicing

Good for you! What juicer are you using? Are you happy with it?

I have a Hurom and I love it! My favorite is: apple, ginger, lemon, cucumber, celery and greens (spinach and/or kale). Apple/beet is pretty awesome. Also "ABC": apple-beet-carrot.

b2r The one I use is an Ariete. I don't know if it is sold in the US. I was told it was an Italian brand.
I would like to buy a nicer one, but since I will be moving back to the US in a little over 2 years...I don't want to spend too much money. Mine was 63 Euro.
I am going to google the Hurom!

Ginger added to any juice would be awesome. My DH used to do orange, ginger, carrot & apple if he ran out of the green stuff. Have to get back to it again.

I can't find a 220v though... You can't find it in European voltage, or you can't find a voltage converter?

Yes, it spins the juice away from the pulp. I am learning some baking recipes to use the pulp in . BUT I really want the one Kittysaver posted! I agree that I feel SOOOO much better. I actually got a few friends of mine into juicing. Some like it...some don't. I just know how it makes ME feel and I will continue to do it.

Angel, how do you experiment or combine juices of fruits and vegetables? ... I mean it can be a bad combination for all you know. I love citrus together or sweet stuff together. Been a long time I've juiced anything (though apples were the most popular fruit I juiced) ... it was a pain cleaning up later after the juicing.

How on earth can it be bad to combine fruits and vegetables ? Bad taste I am talking about ... I can only drink something that tastes pleasant to the taste buds. I won't go mixing and juicing cabbage with strawberries ...

Taste doesn't bother me, just drink it up and stop the bitching. You should see the stuff my BIL makes up.

Go on .. enlighten me on the BIL's juices.
I've drank worst stuff like Chinese herbal medicine so I know what taste and smell can do to one's appetite. As for my fave combo, it's gotta be apple and oranges.

He believes well it all goes to the same place so you might as well put it all together. He mixes apple cider vinegar in with his stuff. Roselia I won't be in the same room as him when he's mixing this or drinking it. He does strange sandwiches too.

Actually Roselia he isn't. This is someone who is clueless in the kitchen. Think of cheese whiz with peanut butter and Nutella sandwiches and some apple cider vinegar concoction.

Rose, I have an adventurous palate . I mix red cabbage with apples sometimes. I know a lot of people don't like the clean up, but I honestly don't think it is that bad.

It's messy? Crap. I was seriously thinking about trying juicing. I want to feel better too. But I hate mess. And I'm really lazy.

It depends on the machine on the level of messy. I honestly don't think it is a big deal, but I know that is one of the biggest complaints.

This morning I used my broke juicer (had to cover the broken part with my hand...) to make a cucumber, basil, apple, celery, and ginger juice. It is YUM. I was going to make the reboost juice (red bell, orange, carrot, lemon), but when I looked at my basil I realized it MUST be used up today or get tossed. That is another thing that I love about juicing...I can juice things that in the past I would have dumped out.
