When I turn 80 or some doctor tells me that I only have a finite time to live, I'm going back to smoking. Five plus years and I still miss it. And every single time I get in the car, I still reach for my cigarettes.  I'm the type who can't have just one. One means becoming a full time smoker again. |

No you wouldn't. These are the lies your addiction are telling you. Deep breathing, a bottle of water, a good walk. All of those things will feel better.

Ratchets, I quit 20+ years ago after an ICU stay b/c of my asthma. Do I still miss smoking? Absolutely, especially while  . Hang in there.  |

For a different point of view, I don't miss smoking at all. 28 years of smoking, 3 years smoke free. I love it. I don't stink, I don't have to plan for smoke breaks or interrupt other stuff, I save lots of money. Being a non smoker is wonderful.

Stop thinking about the cigarette. Every time that thought jumps up, switch to a positive and bring your mind back to the positive. The positive can be anything like fresh air or a math problem to engage the intellect. I quit over 20 years ago. You can do it.  |

I quit 15+ years ago, cold turkey. Engage your mind when you get cravings. I just drink a big glass of water, craving gone.

The smokers at work have to smoke outside. They have an old pot for their butts. If I pass too close by it on a warm humid day, I know why they call them butts. eww
