was granted the worst credit status of the 50 states (OR IS IT 57 states Mr President?) yesterday. Their borrowing cost of money will be going up to pay their well overextended public servant retirement program. They are well ahead of California in their downward spiral now.

Oh, dj. Don't worry. CA is still probably the second worst. And it's the worst by far over the past 12 years.

Well, the rest of the State has been 'carrying' that $hithole we call the City of Chicago for decades now, with no end in sight; it's a cosmic black hole that seems to suck-down money at an alarming rate and gives back very little to the rest of the State in return, proportionally speaking.

And it's the worst by far over the past 12 years. it was a rhetorical question, ib. i know that we are your favourite punching bag. that is why i bring up the fact that Texas is within striking distance of our malfeasance at every opportunity. it goes both ways.

The election is over. We lost. Obama isn't running in 2016.

dj--It's all good-natured ribbing.... Liberal politics ans crappy economy aside, I'd rather live in CA than TX. Maybe I'm a little jealous.

I lived in southern California many years ago. The weather is delightful and, at that time, it was a great place to live, work and play. Mountains, desert and seashore were all within easy driving distance. My brother still lives there, but it's not the same. Of course, nothing is ever the same as you remember it years later. Still, the astronomical prices for homes and the high taxes don't make it particularly palatable these days, I'm afraid.

Well, another difference might be that in California, the politicians are giving all the taxpayer money to Illegals, whereas in Illinois, our politicians are stealing it out from under our noses in broad daylight...

yet it continues to grow. Growth is relative. California was the 8th largest economy in the world, but in 2012 it slipped to 9th. i was referring to population, Paul. that IS what we were talking about, right?

California has lost population. I thought you were referring to economic growth as a means of mitigating my original point- which you quoted in the response I replied to: California hasn't had a net new resident since 1990.

no, it hasn't. it has grown by 8M people in the last 30 years. it has never had a y-o-y decrease. this is readily verifiable. go verify it.

your original post had to do with residents, not economic growth. my reply had to do with residents, not economic growth. i think it is really strange to not count people born here as new residents, but i guess if it suits your political argument, no amount of contortions is too much.

I thought Obama was from Kenya? I thought he was from Hawaii. He was from the Aloha state. After college, if he actually attended, he moved to Chi-town to be a community organizer.

If he actually attended? Is there a conspiracy theory out there that he didn't even go to college? I missed that one.

he is not releasing(giving consent) his school records.
many potus(including GW) don't.
GWs were leaked.
still doesn't change the fact that IL sucks, mainly due to chicago, fraudulent/criminal politicians, and public sector unions.

If he actually attended? Is there a conspiracy theory out there that he didn't even go to college? I missed that one. There were quite a few members of his class, who alledge they never saw him. Granted there are people who never attended classes when I was in school. The first week the room is packed. It was never filled to capacity again until finals week, so it is possible he was one of these slackers.

a lot of folks don't seem to remember GW in the Air National guard either. safe to say that neither(GW or Barry) had "normal" upbringings that's the problem with the current cabal we have to choose from. we need fresh blood, not incredibly inbreed freaks like we have now.

What I find ironic is that a guy with a Harvard education who could have gone anywhere chose a city and state that are world renown for their level of corruption, was brillianly successful there, and still managed to convince the rest of the country that he was good enough to elect president.
