My guess is they'll be signing/trading other players, and really making a push to be near the top in 2014!

Well, the Yankees signed McCain, Ellersby and Karoda. (I was surprised when I heard they lost Cano, but I guess they refused to go more than 7 years (he would be 38 at the end of the contract) and I can't really blame them. Look at how the A-Rod contract has turned out!!
Con grats to Tony LaRusso, Bobby Cox and Joe Torre for being elected unanimously to the Hall of Fame by the Hall's veterans committee. |

the Yank-me's didn't have any money left after what all they threw at Ellsbury. I'm not at all surprised that Cano went elsewhere. I wish him luck, and I wish that Ellsbury continue to be made of glass for his tenure in NY.  |

not at all, ma'am.  I thank him for his service here, and am happy to see him earn his payday. I don't at all think he's worth it though, with his injury history...and am very excited that our organization recognized that and declined to entertain offers for him. good luck to the Yankees in their purchase, I just hope that he spends as much time on the DL there as he did here. |

I like Ellsbury, but not for that much. Glad the M's didn't go that hard after him. Great complimentary player, but not that useful if you can't bring him home (see Ichiro...)
