Okay - now on Chrome, still no poll.

I don't care what size the avatars are but the 'naked' ones where people haven't played with yet are giving me the creeps. Although I really don't care for the manga-looking ones, either. Is there an option for no avatar at all?

I think so. I think it's the bottom option in avatars in your profile. For me, it was mostly hidden by the 'save' button.

That's being worked on, mollyanna. It's mentioned in the V5 status thread, I think. Anyhow, it's a work in progress.

I prefer the option for larger avatars, if desired.

I can see the poll, but there's nothing to put your vote in with it.

nevermind .. . . You just click on the choice you want. I was looking for the little boxes like on the old board.

I like 'em big. By the looks of it, we're keeping them too.

The poll works at home. As I said on the other thread, now I have to quit my job, so I can use all the features of this board.

Is there an option to not display the avatars like in the old board? It makes it easier to browse this forum at work. Thanks.

It is a tiny bit bigger. Hardly noticeable. 150x150 pixels, as opposed to 100x100. I don't like it, but I can't pinpoint why. That's usually a sign that my dislike is an irrational attachment to what I know. Virgil - Can there be a little box added to choose the size like on the V4 for those that want smaller or are at work? If it already exists how do we change the size?

I don't care how big you make them. But please, for the love of all that's holy, give me the option to block them all back.

Oh, and maybe it's just me, but my PM notifications seems bugged. I have the little cloud thing telling me I have a new message, but when I open my inbox there are no new messages. My browser is FF, my OS is Solaris 10, and my browser settings are pretty screwy since this is a work computer. I have a lot of plugins and whatnot disabled. If nobody else is having the issue ignore it until I check it at home later.

I don't care about the size. Just curious why I lost my little doggie avatar? I have to play around with loading a picture vs. one of the stock avatar. I never could get a pic to load properly on the old board. Tried to do the photobucket or whatever was suggested, and it was more trouble than it was worth, which is why I sued the little doggie one. On the flip side, I created my mini me portrait a few minutes ago. I look so happy cuz I'm on the beach! sigh......

Well, I see after my post that I'm still bald . Not a becoming look at all btw. And no beach. I kinda feel like Charlie Brown. Oh, and I had the message thing also, but it appears to be gone now.

you can do that by clicking on that persons nic that takes you to their profile and in the gear icon on the right, click that and Block Member and something else appears. Then click on Block Member and voila it's done.

Had to read this three times before I realized it was a very easy typo, instead of you suing a dog. LOL.

I'm too late to vote. Rats!
The new avatar size is eye-popping and the board looks really pretty but there's a heck of a lot of scrolling - both the type that you do with a mouse and the type that you do with your eyes. Even short sentences take up two or three lines.
It's not particularly condusive to concentration or communication. Can I put in a vote for something that will compress the display? Ultimately, I'm here to communicate with others, not to see my own thoughts beautifully displayed.

I'll eventually port over VLeanNMean, which will significantly minimize the overhead and compress the layout. It will take a week or two, though.

Is there a way to hide someone's avatar? Double-clicking doesn't seem to do the trick anymonre.
