Nope.......divorce was final 20 years ago this past July and I've never remarried. Its not for lack of wanting, just that the only one that has asked was not someone I wanted to be involved with for the long haul.
My BF's first wife's grandparents just celebrated their 75th Anniversary last month. He just turned 100 earlier this month and she's 97 and from the picture in the paper, they appear extremely healthy.

DH & I met in college, & married after we graduated. I guess since we're still together, we're older than dirt... Both his parents & my parents stayed married past 50 years. Maybe it runs in the family. ;D

DH and I have been together for 7 years and friends for 14. We've had a tough time or two and the conversation always goes "I'm not going to divorce you but I don't want to live unhappily with you either." My friends that have divorced/separated became far more interested in finances after so that may explain why we have a lot of divorced people on the boards. She always says she'd never divorce me - divorce is too messy - she'll just have me killed if it got that far. The Nancy Reagen model of marriage. ;D

I have a funny story. My grandfather fell in love with my grandmother after 40 years of marriage. They'd married because it made sense after each had lost the love of their lives but not because of passion or love. It was cute to everyone else and traumatizing to my grandmother. He would tell her how much he loved her, appreciated her, and wanted to hold her hand. She was like "what the hell is wrong with him? Why is he changing the rules now?"

Right?! Anyone who's been divorced twice isn't a two time loser, they're a slow learner.

Married 4 1/2 years, together for 7. I waited until I found the one I could go the distance with. (Got married 1 week before my 35th birthday.)

Don't get cocky. I was married for 24 years and 11 months. I gladly forfeited the gold watch.

Ouch, Southernsusana. The pastor at our church says the current trend is to divorce after becoming an empty nester...

My parents divorced when I was 5 and my brother was 3. This wasn't so common in 1990. By the time we got to junior high and on a lot of our friends parents got divorced. Most of them should have done it long before they did. Not saying everyone did that but there seemed to be a whole lot of stayed together for the kids that exploded into some nasty divorces when the kids were teenagers.

Yep, but only 7 years. My parents have been married over 40 years. My dad's parents were married 58 years when my Grandpa passed. My mom's parents 61 years when my Grandpa passed and my Great Aunt and Uncle made it almost 65 years before my Great Uncle passed away last January. My sister has been married 17 years and my brother 14 years. Once you marry people in our family, you are stuck with us until you die. I'd be careful of stressing the "to death do you part" portion of the marriage vow. In my husband's family, back before divorce was more acceptable, he had a male relative with 3 or 4 wives who died of "unknown causes".....

I used to work with a lady who had been married 6 or 7 times. At some point, don't you just have to wonder if you are the problem? Or do you go for number 8 and think "This is the one" One time when we were out in town I introduced her to my DH using just her first name (apparently a faux pas here in the south). So I told my DH that I didn't forget her last name, I knew several of her last names, just wasn't sure if I knew the current one!

I almost made it to 25 years together in my first marriage, but I got "fired." It worked out well. Met DH 6 or 7 months later, together for 14 wonderful years so far, married for 8.5 blissful, adventurous years. He is irreplacable. True love. Just had to wait awhile to find it ,

Yes. 25 1/2 years for us. Both of our parents have been married for over 50 years. Both sets of my grandparents were married for more than 60 years.

First & only! Together 10 years, married for 5. Both sets of parents still married (one happily, the other not); all four sets of grandparents also stuck together til death did them part. Funnily enough, both SIL's have been divorced once.

We've been friends for about 20 years now. We were friends with benefits for 6 months. Then we dated/were engaged for 5 years.
We've been married for 11 years. I've already been to hell and back with my DH. I hope we're married for 40+ years. But, that may not be my reality.
