do you ladies share coupons? I've wandered in here a few times, but haven't quite mastered the lingo so I never stay long. I'm happy to share whatever coupons I'm not using, in trade for spare Whiskas coupons y'all might have. a good friend has a very senior kitty (basically a hospice case) that after months of barely eating anything, will now only eat Whiskas food. she's asked her circle of friends to save up coupons, as that brand isn't cheap and she's on a tight budget. this week's local papers didn't have any. We certainly do! Do you know of any recent ones we could check our inserts for? It's very helpful if you put the insert and the date. I don't have cats so I'm not familiar with what coupons are usually out there for Whiskas, but that's good because you could always have mine. thanks for the reply! unfortunately, I'm not aware of any recent coupons. she only just put the word out this week. I don't have pets myself, so I tend to just skim past the pets products coupons without really giving them a second look. there were a ton in general this week, just no Whiskas. I guess if you see any, you can shoot me a PM?

I'll try to remember you if I see any in the future. They are in the inserts from time to time.

Personally, I suffer from a severe case of CRS so I would never remember that you/your friend needs them so if you keep posting and reminding us, when/if they come out and IF I get them, I'd be happy to help out.

Chiver this isn't a very mercenary group either. At least not the actual horse trading variety. We just mostly work on the we help when we can method. So there isn't much trading per say. If anyone needs a coupon they just put up a "hound alert" and if someone has it and can help they will send you a PM to get your addie to mail it to you. We all just try our best to help out when we can. I also didn't get that mailer but will keep it in mind if I see any in the future.

The 5$ ECB WYB 25$ iTunes GC is a major beeper. It goes through if they enter the coupon manually.
Buy 2 25$ iTunes GC, use 2 5$ CRT (takes off 5$ each instead of giving back ECB) and get back 10$ ECB.

I came over to see what I can do with my ecb's this week and it looks like the answer is not much. What a load of carp! their prices have been going up so much so even if I blow the ecb's its very expensive to do that. Someone on WUC said HD has Husky trash bags on clearance for $2.50ish if anyone is looking for those. I am using some I got from them and they are okay, not the strongest ever but they do the job. I believe its for the 100 count. I am do from scratch cooking all the time now. All the processed foods that were so cheap have dried up so its back to the old way of eating. But I just made up a box of mac n cheese from CVS BF sale. With some pepper and whipping cream its not so bad. Glad to see more posters lately on here. I know I can get the real deal on here about what's going on coupon wise. Does anyone think in a couple of years it will be back to normal? I don't know what's happening with coupons. I do know it looks fairly bad right now. hopetoberich: Unfortunately the biggest problem in the couponing community is that there are just too many of us. As long as EC stays on the air and continues to encourage more and more people to coupon, the worse it is going to get. I've been doing this (stockpiling using coupons) for over 25 years and my perspective is that the "gravy train" that we have experienced, mostly as a result of the drug chain wars, is what is NOT "normal". I was already shopping the sales at Longs and Rite Aid and buying their "free after rebate" items with coupons (= MM) when WAGs started the RR program in 2006. My Longs eventually converted to a CVS also giving me EBs and Rite Aid jumped in with their UPs. And well, the rest is "history" as they say. Because of my previous experience with couponing, I had no idea how long the "gravy train" would last and I stockpiled like crazy week in and week out. Everything was LITERALLY rolling along just fine when EC came onto the scene and dumped waaaaay too many couponers onto the marketplace. My prediction, and I could be wrong , is that it will continue to tighten up to the point where people will gradually drop out because it will be less and less "worth it" to them. When the freebies start to dry up, the first people to go will be those who have REALLY HEALTHY stockpiles of freebies - like us ( the GCers) because paying OOP will be anathema to us. Until EC goes off the air, for every one of us who drops out, there will be another newbie to take our place and the manufacturers and retailers will continue to tighten. IMHO, for a "new normal" to be established, new couponers must stop being added to the marketplace and old couponers must drop out.

Luckily they were nice about it and refunded me $5 after the transaction was done, but it was very problematic. The manager said she would have to call about it, because it's really stupid to issue a coupon that the registers won't allow you to use. I found another freebie for this week for those that use SavingStar: Rembrandt toothpaste 7.99 reach floss: 1.99 =9.98 -$2 rembrandt IP-$2 savingstar credit for rembrandt + $1 ss credit for reach floss -$5 EB =free Not that we're likely to need free TP, but at least it's a premium brand and would help use a $10/50 for those that have them. Could also be MM for those who have a reach floss coupon.

CVS HERSHEY DEAL ALERT
Apparently the registers are programmed for a Buy $15/Get $5 EB deal instead of a Buy $10/Get a $3EB deal. I spent $12 (4) Herhsey pouches and nothing printed so they force printed a $3 EB. Someone on WUC reported that they got a $5 EB after spending $15. Hmmm, I may have to go back tonight and pick up another bag. ;D

Yep, for those of us who do not clip and file in advance of need, that is how we find out if there is a coupon available (like the Whiskas) and if so, where to find it so we can then go clip it and use it. I NEVER clip a coupon before I KNOW that I am going to use it.

I came on the couponing train too late I think; right when I joined is when the deals started to disappear.

Rite Aid: I bought 2 Duracell 8-pack batteries @ $6.97 which came to $13.94. I used $4/2 MQ and 2 $1.00 peelies less $7.00 in UPS. Subtotal was $.94 + $.98 tax equals $1.92. I got back $4.00 in UPs. These batteries had $10.00 in coupons. One was a $5.00/2 Oral-B battery TB, $1.00/2 Charmin (not trial size), $2.00 off 1 Pampers and 1 Wipes, and $2.00 off Duracell battery charger.
As far as coupons and deals drying up, I've always wondered if P&G sees any significant drop in their sales when their coupons are crappy. I only buy Tide when there's a great deal and a $1.00 MQ, and Dawn if the MQ is $.50 or $.75. What do you guys think? Do you forgo buying a product if the coupon is really low or do you think, "At least I'm saving a quarter"?

I came on the couponing train too late I think; right when I joined is when the deals started to disappear. WAGs was A LOT better in 2007-2009. We could shop there 100% for free including sales tax before they discontinued the ESR (Easy Saver Rebate) program. CVS was da bomb in 2009 (when my Longs converted) and in 2010 at my store. In those years, $/$$ were plentiful ($3/$15s, $5/$25s, but mostly $4/$20s) and there were a lot more free after EB deals. With the $/$$ and coupons, almost every scenario was a MM. Today, there are still a lot of great deals (low or no OOP), but they are just not as plentiful and/or as lucrative as they used to be (not as many MMs). I know that for me, when I can no longer roll my EBs to buy products that we use on a regular basis for little or no OOP, I'll be done. What I will continue to do is to watch the internet to find out what CRTs are printing at the red machine and when they print ones that give free or almost free products, I'll jump in and pay my OOP with the GCs that I still have. That's MY plan anyway. ;D

Dancin' - Can you elaborate on your Right Guard Scenario? I find myself with a bunch of printables and I keep seeing limit 1 in the online ad. How'd you work this? We can always use deodorant and body wash.
eta - Thank you to many who have given a heads up about the iTunes card. I'll be prepared to be patient when I get there.

The Right Guard is a weekly deal with a Limit of 1, but it is also a December Monthly Deal with a Limit of 6. $17.94 (6) Right Guard Body Wash - 9.00 (3) $3/2 IPs $8.94 OOP --> $6EBs I included this in a $10/$50 scenario that also included Dial Lotion, Snows Clams (on a rain check), M&Ms, and Hershey Candy Pouches. What I was REALLY interested in was the lotion and the clams.

Do you forgo buying a product if the coupon is really low or do you think, "At least I'm saving a quarter"? If I can work the product into a scenario where its price and the value of the coupon (regardless of what it is) benefits me, then I will definitely use it. For example, if I'm doing a Buy $30 P&G/Get a $10EB and I am really close to the amount I need to get to $30 and a $.97 Dawn gets me there, then I will definitely throw it in there and use the low valued coupon. If Dawn is on sale for $.97 without a P&G EB promotion and the coupon is for $.25, I will not use the coupon and pay $.72 for the bottle of Dawn. I NEVER buy a product based on the fact that there is a coupon available for it - even a high valued coupon. Whether or not I use a coupon and buy any particular product COMPLETELY depends on how badly I need it and how much I'll have to pay in OOP to get it. If a product that is normally priced @ $6, is on sale for $4, and I have a $2.50/1 coupon, that means that I'm going to pay $1.50 ea. for the product. If I use the product and have none in my stockpile, I might buy 1 or 2, but I probably wouldn't stockpile at $1.50 ea. Now, if I was using a $/$$ and could use that item as a filler in my scenario, that's a completely different story!! ;D I'm gonna stop before I start rambling. I hope I answered your question.

I love it, I'm so glad I used to make it with my grandfather so I know how and remember him fondly every time I make it.

I can NEVER be without clams because I make clam dip year round. Tonight I'm making home made clam chowder. I still have a couple of old rain checks for them.

Have a question for you all. I think some of you take advantage of Kohl's $10 coupons to get things for just a little OOP over that $10.
This last coupon I bought a couple things and one was two wash clothes. This time I got red kitchen wash clothes and it turns out they bleed even in warm water. I recycled the tags but might be able to retrieve them from the complex's dumpster. WWYD? Should I see if I can exchange or return them at Kohls with or without the tags? I do have the receipt and they are their house brand I believe , SO - Sonoma.
I did wash them like the directions said before use this Saturday and noticed the bleeding dye the minute I used hotter water. I've had mixed luck trying to fix dyes with vinegar especially reds so I'm wondering whether to return/exchange or live with the constant dye bleed. Since it was a $10 coupon and my OOP was less than the wash cloths I don't think they will give me cash for them. Will they?

I know there have been Wiskas coupons because I clip/print cat food coupons. Does your friend need wet or dry food coupons? Just checked a coupon data base and not finding anything current. You might want to check the mfg web site/facebook page. Many mfg do offer coupons there. Another way is to call the mfg 800 number and outright ask for coupons.

On the other hand, our frugal ways will never "die" unless we allow it to. This reminds me of a PM conversation that I had with Dancin'sometime back. I was telling her how my Mom has maintained her frugal ways even at 79 when she really doesn't need to as she's saved/invested well enough to meet all and any of her needs. It's really not just a habit but a personality trait. Probably stems from a way of living that has one not wanting to waste or squander resources. I'm very much the same way.

They will take anything back, no questions asked. I have returned clothing items that I'd washed and didn't't hold up, etc. You will only get store credit since you used the Kohls coupon, but they will definitely take them back.

I try very hard to not buy towels in dark red or the dark blue. Thos colors are the hardest to set. Technically you would have to run them in cold water with vinagar to try and set them. I have had a few towels that have never actually set though. One towels I still kept but it is dark blue and can only be washed with other blue clothes. Talk about a pain in the ass. I would take it back and complain when you are in the area. They should be able to give you a credit or at least let you swap them for a different color that won't turn all your laundry pink.

Two cards, six transactions, three trips, two $10/$50s, $3.38 in OOP and a loss of $1.70 in EBs overall and here's what I got today at CVS: (12) Right Guard Body Wash (2) Dial NutriSkin Lotion (21 fl. oz.) (1) Nivea Lotion (16.9 fl. oz.) (4) Nivea Cream Tins (8) Bags Holiday M&Ms (10) Hershey Candy Pouches (Rolos, Reeces, York) (2) Bags Hershey Kisses (9) Snow's Clams (6 oz.) Okay, now I ought to be done for the week. YEAH!! Did you clear the $3.38 on a GC or was that actual cash? It was actual cash. I have GCs, but I found that I was using them a little too liberally, so I went back to using cash for OOP. I've decided to hold the GCs for if/when I run out of EBs so that I can take advantage of some of the CRT deals "guilt free".

Will they? Kohls has an awesome return policy. They will take anything back, no questions asked. I have returned clothing items that I'd washed and didn't't hold up, etc. You will only get store credit since you used the Kohls coupon, but they will definitely take them back. I don't think Kohl's is giving store credit anymore IF you used a $10/$20 or something similar.

With a receipt and the product, I'm pretty sure they will allow you to do an even exchange.
