Congrats! I think you'll enjoy it. Any plans for its inaugural meal?

If I'm feeling adventurous, then I'll make spaghetti & let the water for the pasta boil over everywhere & let the sauce splatter all over the stove. Then I can decide if it was a wise purchase while doing the clearnup

I have a GE glass top. It has two small burners in the back, a large one and dual (large and extra large) burner in the front. I like it well enough. I use a glass top cleaner on it once every couple of weeks or so, and just take a wet washcloth to it after use (and after it cools down). But does anyone know where to get the plastic scrapers? I didn't see them at Wal-mart. I grew up with a glass top stove and really miss it. I had one in the last house I rented and was sooo happy when I saw that was what the LL was putting in to replace the old stove. My mom has a glass cook top and one burner is a dual burner. Cleaning is simple - just wipe up anything that spills asap. If something gets cooked on, we've always used a razor blade to scrape it off and then wipe clean. A scrubber sponge works well too. I don't think Mom has ever used any special cleaner on the one she has now and its nearly 20 years old and looks just fine. But if you really feel the need for more than just wiping down with hot dishwater, Soft Scrub does a good job.

Thanks to all of you for the good ideas of how to clean the glass top ranges.
