The wife just called and said, "I forgot it was cyber Monday already. I need your credit card number." So, I give her the number, expiration, and verification code. Then she says, "Thanks babe, love you," and hangs up.
That's it. That was the entire call. No discussion on what we're buying, how much we're spending, nothing.
How worried would you be after having that conversation with your spouse?

You don't let your wife have her own credit card?

Haha going to be a long day until you get home. Maybe you can see a pending transaction online later?

I guess I'd be worried if:
1) she was buying your gift and putting it on your credit card.
2) You and she agreed on a cash budget for the holidays, and she's gone through the money already, and needs your CC#.
3) She's maxed out on her card and you don't know it yet.
Then again, I don't know the back story of all this. Maybe she found an incredible deal, and you're the one with the rewards CC that she doesn't have, and the purchase gives a huge bundle of rewards points?

She's got you trained if you didn't even stop to ask why before you gave up the information.

There is no way I can fully answer this question given the character limit on these boards.

It is for PRECISELY that kind of nonsense that I rescinded DW's access to my Amazon account. Its not been an issue since.

I usually shop in a day or two - middle of the week, middle of the day, get everything, and then have some beverages. This year, I'm likely to do a lot of this on my own. It never occured to me that I must get permission from my husband. I guess your real names are Lucy and Ricky?

I had to get DH's information so I could order from Nebraska Furniture Mart. I would have been fine if the darn site hadn't required the last four digits of his SSN as the primary account holder. I had to call him to get the numbers because he had the key to the safe with him so I couldn't get out his card. I have them memorized for the future. Now is when he should be worried.

You should always fully memorize the SSN's ;D I still know XH's, it's been useful.

It concerns DH that I can remember his SS#, but not his birthday... I paid off all the cards this morning. And then turned around and charged a boatlad. Let the shopping begin. Of course, the money's in the bank...

I have mine memorized but have never really needed to have DH's memorized. Now I know his birthdate, full name and the last four digits of his SSN. He is so screwed.

Ha. I live in a marital property state. DH is hung for whatever I buy whether or not it goes on a joint cc.
I placed an order from Eddie Bauer today...I could have hidden it from DH if I wanted too, but he dosn't really get on me about my spending. he will find out about my Cyber shopping when my order arrives at his office. I went Black Friday shopping and bought 2 TV's for his Man Cave and one for his parents, so I don't think he will be complaining about my spending.
DH also broke his phone last Wed, so he is the proud owner of a new 32GB I-Phone. My kids and Nephew/Niece told him he did not need 32 Gig, but he did not listen.

She wasn't asking for permission, just my credit card info. It would be nice to get at least a ballpark figure of how much she's planning on putting on there.

After all the time I've spent on these boards, and having been divorced in this state-I don't actually know if MA is a community property state. Our vacation spot had a 20% off sale on gift certificates for four hours this morning so I bought enough to pay off the balance of our July vacation. On DH's card.

Yeah. And I gave her the card info without asking questions, so clearly I'm not that worried about it. There's still that little voice in the back of my head going, "What the hell did you just do?!?!?!?!"
Let me put it this way, you trust your husband not to cheat on you right? If he called and said, "Hey hon, what your friend's phone number? You know, the cute one with the big rack?" Even though you trust him, you wouldn't have that little voice asking questions?

I would ask my husband why he needs it when he called. I don't like curiosity to come between us.
