People used to believe that if you burn witches then the demons that inhabit them are dispossessed.

I don't know about Republicans believing in demonic possession, but I seem to remember something four years ago about about Democrats believing in new-age Messiahs, or sumfin' like dat... ---------------- Didn't you say you voted for him? Or are going to vote for him? Something along those lines? You believe he's a new age messiah? Yeppers... I'm almost certain to vote (again) for Fearless Leader, but only because he's the least objectionable of the two really piss-poor choices we're being served-up again... Obama as Messiah?... nahhhh... his feet are firmly planted in the mud... If allegedly godless Liberals reject Faith and Religion, why would they want a Messianic figure? Atheists don't look for Saviors! |

LOL! Very true, patience. I'd had that thought myself. We unGodly folk aren't really into Messiahs, are we? That stuff had to come from the conservative side of the aisle, I'd say, and that's coming from someone who doesn't particularly care for Obama's performance and who didn't vote for him first term, much less this term. |

And lots of people believe in ghosts, psychics, shamanism, etc. We all have one belief or another that can't be proven. I personally find the idea of demonic possession comforting. It sucks to believe humans can be that evil on their own.   |

Demonic possession is a biblical teaching that appears throughout the gospels. It is also a longstanding church tradition and teaching. It is not surprising that the party that aligns more closely with fundamentalist christians also has more people that believe a christian teaching.

Why was this OP moved? What does demonic possession have to do with any of the major religions? This was intended as a "republicans are dumber than democrats" by 68-49% thread.
