I started reading Mia's articles and found WIR. Then I found Liz and YM and preferred that board as I was further along being older... that was more helpful for my future financial planning. Then some of us would act up <<gives MM and Dark the stink eye >> and we'd get the thread kicked over to EE and I just decided to stay there ever since because everybody was so great there. I never looked back!

I don't remember where I started out or how I found the boards all those years ago, but I remember being part of the original Barn before the burning. I do remember reading the last of the picnic thread before it got locked down if that gives anyone a clue how long ago this was.
I may have had a different screen name back then but for the life of me can't remember what it was. I've always been a sporadic poster, but voracious reader of the boards.

Feb 15, 2008: I first posted on MSN's Market Talk using the pseudonym of O&G. I've now dropped that since I'm among friends.
But, I'm still getting older!

olderstill - I know. I used to be one of them. But I'm trying to get cured of that malaise.

I started on Tax Corner. I got booted for complaining about adminstrators allowing con artists and tax evaders to lie about federal tax law and to slander the honest tax professionals who made that board work. That went on for three years before M$N finally got rid of those liars and thieves.
That negative experience resulted in my heavily negative opinion of anyone associated with administration of the MSN boards, particularly the paid help. I am not at all surprised or unhappy that the MSN business model for its boards has proved to be a failure.
I never would have posted on any other board if Tax Corner had been administered properly.

Your Money. That was pretty much the only board I spent any time on before EE became more popular.

YM then I started visiting EE. I loved the EE fieldtrip so I started visiting a few boards more regularly.

I died laughing when I was reading the posts about the first field trip even though I think Rovo didn't take it well :-)

First MT, then EE occasionally, then P+M on the more civil days. Recently it's been any one of the three, but not much on MT, after it became a perma bull/bear battleground between FTI/Decoy and their minions.

I followed the "Middle Class Squeeze" article to YM. DH knows that MSN is shutting down the boards and that I've been complaining bitterly about it. As he told someone the other day, I read until I was ready to explode and then just had to make myself heard. And have been addicted ever since. I think the wagon on the drinking thread belonged to me. I recall a lot of trips uphill both ways to make sure it was always full and at the ready. In return I was showered with barbecued flamingo wings and merlot slushies. LOL, whenever someone asks what my favorite drink is I always answer "merlot slushie." you people have started slowly dragging me down in to eebyss
I'm still not sure how everything works here, but I hope the above is in quotes. What a brilliant word "eebyss". And the J, you were here all the time. The Laws of Humanistics are proof. An EE'er at heart.
Note to self: Spell check doesn't know half the words in this post.

...started on WIR... WIR begat YM... YM begat P&tM... P&tM begets frustration... SS begets the occasional oasis from stress... and moonbeam begat this board... <3

I started reading on the WIR boards and then ventured over to EE and everyone was giving advice on the "Terrie " thread, you know the chick who did not know what to do with her two houses and her lazy husband. Then I started reading other threads.
