I kind of figured it was something like that, but what do the initials stand for?

We just got back home and it went fine. This said, my crazy DH opted for local so he could hear and see what was going on. He couldn't see because of the screen(?) they put up but he could hear. I think he's nuts LOL. Next round in six weeks but I'm guessing he'll go for local then too. Thanks everybody! PS SouthernSusanna there is no such thing here as certain docs being covered and others not. Some might charge more than insurance pays out but that is not the case here because DH has always been treated in a public hospital (rather than a private clinic where "overages" can and often do happen).

That's good news debthaven.
I read where the young Georgia woman who recently was struck with the flesh eating disease and where she lost her hands and part of her leg. She was getting moral support from another woman struck by the same disease. That woman had 68 surgeries over a 10 year period including amputations and skin grafts. I would imagine most of those surgeries were GA.

I wanted to add that one of the two people who got me through today is Bonny's real-life BFF. She lives in Paris, so Bonny introduced us a few years ago. I called her to tell her I was in Paris, she didn't answer, so I decided to go shopping (only for necessary items lol) to kill time until I it was time to go back to the hospital. She called me right back, said, I'm on the next bus, I'll meet you for coffee! And she did.

Yes Sir lol.
ETA: I live in the suburbs, Bonny's friend lives in the city, and the hospital is in the city.
It's just where I live now, trust me, there is nothing special about it. On the contrary, I hope to go back home one day.

It's every day for you so you are used to it. But to just casually toss it off you were in Paris for the day... I have been to Paris a number of times. As an visitor, my favorite city. (I'm a Middle Ages European history buff too.)

But to just casually toss it off you were in Paris for the day... No, Tennesseer, so sorry, that was not at all my intention! I'm very open about living in the suburbs of Paris so a lot of posters know that's where I live. Thank you Muttley and Milee! I'm greatly relieved too. Early morning appt back at the hospital tomorrow so I'm going to bed now.

debthaven-Oh I know it wasn't your intention. It is what it is. I just wish I could live there for a bit. But obligations keep me here.

Sorry, but you are wrong. With our insurance (PEEHIP administered by BC/BS), PPO providers and facilities are covered 100%. Non-PPO providers are covered at 0%.

I think Debt was referring to the French system, not ours... Glad everything went OK! And I also had to LOL at the offhand Paris comment (I miss that about NYC... "just gonna run up to Times Square to do a little shopping, be back in a couple of hours").

Thanks Mid! SS, Mid is right, I was referring to the health system here in France, sorry if that wasn't clear.
