Steak & Ale Style Brown Bread Ingredients 1 cup water 1/4 cup molasses 1 tablespoon butter, softened 2 cups bread flour 1 1/4 cups rye flour 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder 2 teaspoons salt 2 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast Directions 1. Place ingredients in the pan of the bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Select cycle; press Start. This is a hearty yet soft bread that's wonderful with winter stews and the heavy, comfort meals we enjoy when the weather turns cold. Do try it. I think you'll not be sorry.

LOL! If you don't have one, by all means get one. It makes breadmaking so much easier and less time consuming. We love ours and use it often. It'll make quick breads, as well as yeast breads, doughnuts, cakes, cornbread, and all manner of good stuff!
