You're a great nan, 3cats. I've always said, and firmly believe, that kids will sink to whatever level you let them. My dad used to say that they were forever testing their boundaries and your patience. Went to the movies last night. Bought 4 tickets and 3 kids snacks. They're plenty big. Popcorn / M&Ms, refillable drink $5.50. Now idea how much I spent but came home with 50c

Monthly total 25/30 NSD
I'm glad this month is over! I'm ready to start over.
Just sent off visiting family. I love to have them visit but I'm always glad to have my home to myself again. I did really well, utilizing my pantry and smart shopping I only spent $50 for meals for three days and gas for a day of touring the Black Hills. I was relieved to see the fire damage was not as bad as I had expected, although there is still a lot of smoke lingering in the air. Much of it from Montana and Wyoming I understand. The Fall foliage was, however, stunning. We drove to the state park near my home and I was appalled when I saw the damage caused by the fires over Labor Day weekend. Much of the area is still posted as a fire burn area and not accessible, what was accessible was very disheartening. Blackened, sooty pine tree spires stood against the sky and charcoal stumps and logs spread drunkenly across the forest floor still exuded a heavy smoky smell that is lingering even after a month. There are still fire crews patrolling the area. We are all hoping for some moisture soon and some wet, soggy snow this winter. And, no Dakota no rain yet. I think we have had a total of .27 inches last month. KCgal called me while you were having rain--just to rub it in I'm sure.
I have had internet for over a week now! The guy who fixed it did so by replacing the outside line. He and some of his techie friends are positing the idea that the soil is so dry so deep down that the poles the wires are on are not completely grounding correctly. I don't know whether to be frightened or not by this theory. I also found out just how addicted I am to my computer.
I need to go feed some kitties and reassure them that the little 16 yo white dust mop, half blind and 3/4 deaf arthritic dog that visited is truly gone and it is safe to come out of the closet. At least by the third evening Onyx felt brave enough to stick her nose in the air and scurry past him. Calleigh is still not willing to accept the fact that he is gone.

Mom got me a new phone and bluetooth today- she will get a $50 rebate on the $50 phone. It's a Pantech Breakout smartphone. Nothing super fancy but it will get me started with a smartphone. If I decide I don't like it, when my 2 years is up, I will go back to having a dumb phone.
My october goal: 25 CS/NSD

Update: 20 NSD and 4 CSD
I had another very active week this past week. Between school activities and the rain I was able to get a bunch of NSD. October is a major spent month as several annual bills occur during it. Money has been put aside for them but still I hate having to write out the checks. I did manage to finish paying off the new computer and starting whittling down the car repair bill. I hope to finish it up this coming month.
I also several more school activites at night this month. Those usually wear me out. The good thing is that I don't think they are scheduled in the same week. The first of the two craft shows I do is also this month and I do need to finish up some items.
This is also the time when the majorityof my students' major project comes due. I have one group scheduled to come in this week with many others due next week. This is on top of all the other things I assign that also have to be graded. Át least the third group hasn't been assigned as of yet so I have a bit of time before they will be due.
Hope all are doing well.

I will go ahead and start the October thread between today and tomorrow if no one else does.
I am a little down right now as my father is very ill. He refuses to go to the doctor and his symptoms are that of someone with end stage cancer. We know he has spots on his lungs and a large tumor on his kidney.

After going over my spreadsheet, I have; 22 NSD/CSD I have a question. Does any one here give child care and get paid by the state for it? Is there a set rate and when do you get paid? I guess that is 3 questions, just wondering.

Final Sept Update: Rocky Mtn. Saver: 5 NSD/13 CSD <$5 My CSD/NSD's are a bit short this month, and clearly favored the CSD's. But it's not too bad, and I wasn't tracking as well as normal, so I may have missed some. Onward to October! Ombud: Allstate wrote me a car repair check for about $350 on Saturday, so we'll see. I thought it sounded low, but I don't know about cars. However, I've had Allstate in the past, and they were pretty tight-fisted with their money in my experience. I'll be talking to my mechanic this week to see what his thoughts are.

Woo Hoo I survived September. It was a long month. We had a blast in Nebraska for the Junk Jaunt. DH loves Lincoln and now wants to move there. I seriously doubt we will be he is pretty serious. The people in Nebraska were all just so darn friendly. It was a long 3 days spent mainly in the car (driving from sale to sale) but we had a great time and are looking forward to going back next year. Came in under budget- Spent around $40 a day on meals for the 3 of us and our hotels were right on budget. I came back with more than half the money I brought to spend shopping so that's going to be deposited back in the bank. Except of course I'll set some aside for the annual book sale at the state fairgrounds this weekend. Ready to try to tackle October and stay on budget. Catch you all on the flip side (aka the October thread)
