I wonder what the 20 year moving average on a stock would look like?

Disinfranshised investor, It is nice to get everyone's opinion. No one is right or wrong but what works for you. The more I learn of others style of investing I can come up with something for me I can be comfortable with. Please keep posting... There is always something to glean from everyone's post.

M2W. Dividend stocks are not my thing so I do not have 5 for you. In reading your posts I question whether you and your husband may be at different investing wavelengths. You may be one style of investor and your husband different. I am not familiar with your backgrounds but one of you may be looking for rewards and market affirmation, the other seeking safety and steady stable returns. I believe folks should decide what is best for themselves and their future. If you are coming from two different worlds it could be better to divide the portfolio with each of you taking command of one portion. I have known traders that can make money, and investors that can make money. I do not have much confidence in making a trader into an investor or visa/versa. In my opinion the most important thing that can determine success in the investment world is settling on an investing style that fits a person's psyche. There are investor quizzes available to help you folks figure this out. Just a thought from the foregoing discussion I had that only you two can decide.
As an aside, the dollar cost averaging thing vs. technical is an example. I commend the authors for knowing who they are and what works for them. I am guessing that each is satisfied with their own hard earned investing profits. So in conclusion (to borrow words from Spock), may Everyone "live long and prosper".
