and it won't affect your rates. I wouldn't be 100% sure of this, speaking as someone in the insurance industry. But don't fret about that, the insurance is there for you to use.

Hello, everyone. I just came back and saw you guys kept posting messages in the last few days. There are some developments. The condo association took responsibility for the damage. It's just a question of when they'll be able to start working here. I called them everyday for the last week, and they have been responsive. Fortunately, I am covered and I don't have to pay for any of the damage. I don't know if the insurance would cover damage to my furniture and personal property. But I don't care because the major damage is in the empty bedroom. There's also damage in the downstairs living room, but it's just the walls and floor, and the carpet. The few pieces of furniture that were near the damaged area in the living room, have been removed to a safer place. I'm sorry I didn't update sooner. I work all day and go to school at night, so I am not available during the week.

"The condo association took responsibility for the damage." I'm so glad to hear that! I've been thinking about you this week. Karma to you!

If you can get your hands on a dehumidifier, set it up in the room. I will help the drying out process. You'll be amazed at how much water it will collect. They are a bit expensive and awkward to store, so I would try to borrow instead of buy one. Lots of good suggestions from everyone else. Good luck. Rental places have them.
