I lived in Boston for one year. My friends kept dropping the R in my first name. I considered dropping the R in my last name but then I would have had to go thru all the bells and whistles when you take maiden name back  |

I considered dropping the R in my last name but then I would have had to go thru all the bells and whistles when you take maiden name back I once prepared an Excel report which was handed out to about 30 HR folks at a department meeting in Chicago. I asked the attendees not to bother looking at the report as it would not make any sense until I explained it. As I was explaining it, I noticed the word on the upper left hand side of each page was obscenely misspelled. The word on the upper left hand side of each page on all the pages of each report handed out was the word 'Count'. I had dropped the O in the word. I casually walked among all those in attendance and took back each report before anyone opened it. I told the group I had found an error and would send all in attendance I would send an updated report to everyone via company mail. I laughed my butt off after I left the meeting room. |

Back in the dark ages when Word Perfect first came out I was so excited to have spell check that I overlooked a word that was spelled correctly but soooooo wrong in context. My bossy lady letters had her name and Certified Public Accountant under her name. I had typed Pubic!! Fortunately she caught it and we both had a good laugh. Lesson learned though. I caught myself proof reading letters twice as carefully even with spell check.  |

It actually was accidental. The first geographic word which came to mind and began with a N was Nevada. I didn't even think about the last letter. And with Athens, Greece ending with an E, the first geographic location which I now won't use was Eritrea. So....Enid, Oklahom...er... Enon, Ohio. |
