Interesting. I just assumed all elementary kids played it. Oh, well. Played a lot of red rover. Me too. Four square was played with 4 players, bouncing a ball to each other, while each person stood in one of the 4 squares. If you missed, you were out.

Well at least four square was a 'mathmatical' game versus red rover which was simply pure determination to bust through the line.

Well at least four square was a 'mathmatical' game versus red rover which was simply pure determination to bust through the line. I liked playing Red Rover. 😁 We played another game with a name I don't remember. Two teams: team A first person would bend over 90 degrees and brace himself. Second person would bend over 90 degrees too and wrap his arms around the waist of the first person. Same with player number three around two, four around three, and five around four. First person on team B would take a running start toward team A and leap as far up the line as they could, ending up sitting on /straddling player one. Second, third, fourth and fifth players of team B would do the same. Gist of the game is team A remains standing with everyone on them. If they collapse they don't get any points.

Another name and much more polite: 'Le fleur de la rue,' Walker sale. Okay. You get polite points. But I needed the first word to be "street". Where did you learn that?

Its English translation is ' flower of the street' or for short, 'street flower'. Heard the term many years ago while traveling in France with a friend.
