Left-handed but somewhat ambidextrous. I write and eat left handed. I use scissors because I could never find left-handed scissors. Sign language - I sign with a dominant right hand but I can switch to dominant left hand since I learned that way first.

My youngest is a leftie and I struggle teaching her how to do things...cutting is especially difficult.

My youngest is a leftie and I struggle teaching her how to do things...cutting is especially difficult. and this is why my mom didn't push back as hard on this point w/my school system - she had no idea how to teach me to do anything left-handed. good luck w/your daughter. I can say it's absolutely foreign to me to do certain things w/one hand over the other, but some things I can switch back and forth w/o any major problems. hopefully she can figure things out for herself too.

ODS is a leftie but physical and occupational therapy testing over the years shows greater strength on his right side.

My youngest is a leftie and I struggle teaching her how to do things...cutting is especially difficult. show her the opposite from what comes natural to you. For instance, if you cut a circle clockwise for her doing it counterclockwise is easier. If you try to show it the "rightie" way her hand will get in the way.

I could, but you're probably not going to like what I would say. No seriously, any of the kids bear an odd resemblance to that really nice left handed mailman you guys used to have?

Miss T: My mother had the same issue. She still doesn't like watching me use a knife in the kitchen- she's afraid I'm going to cut myself becuase I seem so awkward to her (DH feels the same way). She also never taught me to iron because she was constantly afraid I was going to burn myself. And you know what- I still don't iron! I do have a clothes steamer, though.
