A local paper had 9 tips to refresh mid year.
First- get a blank piece of paper and revising your 2012 plans and goals (who writes those each year?). Assess if they are relevant and realistic, and whether you still want them.
Second - writing five things you want to achieve by Christmas, focus on positives rather than negatives. Write about what you want, rather than dwell on what you do not have.
Third - reasses your physical and mental health.
Fourth - update your finances.
Fifth - De-clutter your life creating a simpler, more streamlined environment. This is the big clean-out you’ll need to do before you can structure new opportunities and strategies that support you to be your best, with optimal wellness both personally and professionally.
Sixth - book in date nights with your partner to freshen up conversation. Each partner should also routinely having their own time with friends, or a boy's or girl's night out.
Seventh - schedule a short break between now and Christmas, even if just a long weekend.
Eighth - create a simple structure of routine. This could be as simple as blocking out 45 minutes each day for exercise. Or making it routine to finish work earlier on Friday.
Ninth - write down what success means to you.
These were written for small business owners but I think are a useful trigger to think about how DH and I are going to achieve our 2012 goals (both financial and personal).

1. We have bought a new house so some of our goals are around saving enough to do the work we want on it. I also wanted to get a permenant promotion. Now I'm not so sure about the promotion 2. 1) start work on the garden 2) finish the solar panel installation 3) be offered the promotion 4) get pregnant 5) finish painting the doors in the house! 3) Pysically we are both well, mentally who knows 4. The credit card is paid off at the end of August then the savings start. 5. DH has promised we can start doing this next weekend. I don't like a lot of clutter DH likes to have 'stuff' 6. This we don't do. I may need to start doing something regularly. We used to have nights where we would get takeaway and play card/board games together... it would be good to do that again. 7. I'll have to think about this one. 8. I'm trying to leave work at 5pm every day this means that DH and I can car pool and save some money but also have some time together. 9. I'll have to think about this one as well. Maybe its being safe and warm with DH and our family - in which case I'm already there.
