Hi all. It has been a known issue for several weeks here where posts made on a new page don't show up right away.
This is caused by a mismatch between the reply count on the thread listing page and the actual posts in the thread. If the reply count says a thread has 58 posts and there are really 60 posts, it will not show posts on the new page until the third post on that page.
Unfortunately, there is no way for me to know which threads this is occurring on without being told.
Proboards can fix it, but can only do so on an individual thread basis. I have a running thread on support where I have been reporting the problems as I hear of them, but I need your help in doing so.
Please use this thread to let me know of issues so I can report them to PB support. As they are reported, I will edit the posts to reflect it, so as to not duplicate. I know that more than one person may report the same thread so in order to make sure I don't give PB the same thread twice, please provide

2. the name of the thread and the board it's on

no  Still December, to the best of my knowledge. We should be getting to the Open Beta part soon, which is when I can have a copy of this board made and start playing with the admin side of things, working with codes, etc. I *believe* that you all would be able to post on it as well, once I have the url for the copy. One thing to remember is that it IS just a copy. Posts made there will not be visible here, and vice versa. But, it will give me a better idea of what how our current codes will be affected and what we'll need to do to make them work under the new software. |

Moon, The last time I got an did not post error with Proboard I opened a new window and check it out before I reposed.. Good thing as it had posted..correctly...I thought this was a problem with foxfire/ubuntu under the IA64 ...As I recall I got in on the talks about MS also.. I must by a system wide problem with Proboards.. Or that is what the Hackers think.. Bruce |

All message boards are going to get occasional errors like you describe, Bruce..where it says it didn't post when it did. But why would you think hackers have anything to do with it?
my personal approach is to do just what you did. Copy my text, just in case. go back and check if it posted. if it did, great. if not, paste in what you copied and try again.

We did.. but that's a different problem entirely than the one this thread is about. it's not unusual to have timeout problems.
The problems in this thread are when you make a post on a new page and it doesn't show up until one or more have been made after it.

I added another reply to see if it would make the previous post show up.
My new reply showed up but the previous long one was still not there. So I edited the short post to insert the previous post -- a long one about investing for retirement first-- and now my long one is there.
Don't know what happened to the one that I originally submitted.

I'm not sure if this is related or not, seems to me that it is which is why I'm posting here.
I've seen a couple times in the past hour-ish that I've been on this particular 'puter that when I am making a post that will be the first post on a new page, rather than jump to my post when I click "post" it goes to the last post on the prior page. there's no missing posts as mine is visible, but it doesn't navigate properly either.

Well something else is happening as well. Most the times now if my post is the next pages first post on that page. I'll post, but I stay on the page I posted from. In other words I don't go to the next page, my new post does though. I just click to the next page and there's my new post.
Does that make any sense ?
