I donate platelets every other week - two units at a time. From walk-in to walk-out it's a two hour process. I look at it as free karma....that's my story and I am stickin' to it. With the blood center I donate at, set 'reward' levels are $25 for 10 in a year, another $75 at 15, and another $300 at 20 donations (not units). Plus, we get additional rewards too - like during the summer we get certificates to a local 'micro-dairy' for either $11 in goods, or free quarts of ice cream.
