Gov. Kasich To Black Lawmaker: ‘I Don’t Need Your People’ Delivering on his vision for a “new way,” Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R-OH) “is on pace to be the first governor since 1962 to have an entire Cabinet without any racial diversity.” Every one of his 22 full-time agency head appointments has been a white person. Only five are women. Dubbing diversity as “metrics that people tend to focus on,” Kasich said, “I can’t say I need to find somebody to fit this metric” because “it’s not the way I look at those things. I want the best possible team I can get.” More: thinkprogress.org/2011/01/28/kasich-black-your-people/ Maybe he just hired who he thought was best and didn't give the race or gender of the person any thought.

I wonder how many blacks, Hispanics, and other non-whites voted for Kasich? Probably people that are hoping he will do a good job. Since you want him to hire people based on race, does that make you a racist?

In the words of the standard of excellence in broadcasting,Rush Limbaugh,...... "You know racism in this country is the exclusive province of the left. We're witnessing racism all this week that led up to the inauguration. We're being told that we have to hope he succeeds. That we have to bend over, grab the ankles, bend forward, backward, whichever. Because his father was black, because this is the first black president. We've got to accept this. The racism that everybody thinks exists on our side of the aisle has been on full display throughout their primary campaign."

Race is a phony issue. As I've pointed out- Obama has failed. His presidency, if it wasn't already a demonstrable failure, was confirmed a complete flop in the last SOTU speech. A nation mired in 14 trillion dollars worth of debt doesn't want to hear about solar shingles and high speed rail boondoggles. He completely avoided the crisis that he created (it's true both parties are responsible for over-spending, but it's worth pointing out that President Obama borrowed more money than ALL previous presidents COMBINED-- from George Washington to George W. Bush) and went on to propose...new spending. The guy is in la la land. Red, yellow, black, or white-- this guy is a disgrace in everyone's sight.

Maybe. And again, at what point, (20, 22, 30, 100, ? people) when all those a person thought "best" are of one race/gender/heritage/etc is it legitimate to ask if it is possible for that person to consider a person of a different race/gender/heritage/etc as "best"?

Red, yellow, black, or white-- this guy is a disgrace in everyone's sight. ----------------------------------------------------------------- "this guy is a disgrace in everyone's sight" Speak for your self, he's fine by me..very Presidential, a thinking man, has good ideas, has taken action where needed, even with some funds going to projects that are questionable, believe the pork got in the way there. Overall. with out he money spent. the unemployment would have been so much worse, the banks and financials would have been a disaster, GM would have been closed and all those jobs lost, and while the War in Afghanistan is a drain, at least came up with a plan. Something Bush did not , in fact just let fester for seven years and what will happen will happen.{Yes I would have liked to say we won and leave but realize my idea was just not feasible. Pubs would have screamed to high heaven too}. With the corruption of Karzi and his cronies but no one else to step in, that is such a problem. By 2014..if allowed to run the course, if a change in 2012, I firmly believe the new president will be happy as a pig in S that Obama had set up what is happening, will not just pull out , and allow it to play out to see what will be. We will probably have a presence in the area for decades but not as large as one. my feeling on that one. Obama fits me fine so far..so speak for your self..so many feel the same way, even the ultras when they step back, look at the alternatives ..most of them anyway..now the independents..that we'll have to see, but again, Obama...fits me just fine. Nor sure on that borrowing more then all the Presidents before him and the war costs, Iraq, Afganistan, can't be laid on his door step. I don't see pubs calling for a stop and pull out in Afganistan, probably the only thing they support him on..not sure what the Tea Party folks feel about that one. Any one know their position on Afganisan or are they smart enough to stay out of that one, like taking a position beyond their call of stop spending money...

As you can see from the posts of the liberals on this thread, that idea is completely incomprehensible to them. The idea of treating all people equally is completely foreign to the liberal brain. In their world, every person needs to be categorized and ranked by their race, gender and ethnicity in order to be considered human. It's very, very sad, and...yes...very racist.
