Ooh, what happened yesterday? It sounds like a bunch of stuff went down that I missed...damn job He posted a thread in the afternoon that gave away the outcomes of the swimming and gymnastics events at the olympics. If it had been in person we would have had a bbq with taxi as the star.

"Well it is August so you have what one more left for the year? " I didn't kick a homeless guy that approached me for money...that counts as being nice, right??? Of course it does!

This just in: Jesse Owens wins 4 gold in 1936 - I hope I didn't spoil that for anyone??

You didn't want to talk about it you posted the results before it was shown on TV in the thread topic. And you knew very well that you were spoiling it for a lot of people who were staying away from sites that were listing the winners.

There is a solution, Beach, it's the Ignore button. ;D FWIW, I do track results throughout the day, just out of curiosity, even though I watch some events at night, mostly swimming. I get up so early that I cannot stay up late enough to watch until NBCSports decides to finish broadcasting. And no, no spoilers from me. I have more respect than that.

Awesome Dark! I'm a bit jealous - I need to get back to work PT myself. I have to admit I'm astonished at how low salaries are - I'm estimating I'll get $10-$15/hr. Add that to the fact we'll lose 32% to taxes and have some daycare expenses and it's almost not worth it. The only hope is that once I've done my dues (and the kids get older) then my income will increase. Think long term, right?

It wouldn't have made a difference with his thread since it was in the title. And I wasn't the only person who was trying not to see the results so I could watch it on TV last night.

Loop "may" have found a job. She hasn't started yet. So why all the hoopla? Yeah, yeah I know I am being snarky and all...but until one starts work its isn't a "job" per se.

Unbelievable - so I can only post things after everyone has watched?? will you be sure to let me know when you're done watching the events?? Did everyone see the super bowl last Feb?? the patriots choked like the student over the the "teacher/student relationship" thread <<cough, cough, spit, spit>>

"He posted a thread in the afternoon that gave away the outcomes of the swimming and gymnastics events at the olympics" That's it? I was looking for something juicy...I see the scores everytime I log onto the internet... There were about twelve of us that were organizing a BBQ taxi event. There were also offers of freezer space if needed. Taxi you know full well that the coverage of the olympics doesn't come on till the evening. If you want to post to talk about it you can post a thread title saying "Olympic spoilers chat thread" and then just make the first post saying if people don't want to know before the results before they are on TV don't open it in the first post. You absolutely knew you were spoiling it for a lot of people yesteeday. Personally I think that was the point.

Fabulous! Doing well at a $15/hour job can only lead to more possibilities. I honestly think jobs go in a bell curve - that first one is really hard to find, and then it gets easier, and when you have that magical 5 years experience there are a million jobs in your price range, and then you get older and higher on the payscale jobs become a little more scarce, and it goes downhill from there. So, she is starting the good part of the trend!

First of all we weren't going to eat him. He would have liked that too much. Yes there are lots of peole, me included, that purposely didn't go onto sites yesterday like MSN and FB that were spoiling it by posting the results. Actually now MSN isn't spoiling it just by going ont their main page anymore. They will have a story but not tell you what happens till after the main broadcast.

I love sports and I actually wait for 4 yeas to watch the olympics. I make it a point, when the time lag makes it so that they have the events before I can see them, to not go onto sites because I know they will spoil it. I wouldn't even mind an Olympic chat thread as long as the results weren't in the first post. Then I come here and the thread title tells the results of the events I really wanted to see. For the record Dark was one of the people who was pretty pissed also.

It's always a shame when sports scores lead to domestic violence :-( Why don't you tell me everyone who was saddened to hear about America's great victories, and I'll personally apologize to them.

I managed to avoid knowing until Tax's damn thread. If you aren't going on CNN or something its pretty easy. I haven't seen anything about it on FB. Even the Baltimore Sun didn't spoil it for those of us waiting to watch and Phelps is from Baltimore!!
In a lovely display of irony Tax's thread stays and the one that said Spoilers in the title was locked.
