111 degrees yesterday and supposed to be 110 today. No rain to speak of since mid-June. Everyone is grouchy and having trouble sleeping. I held my breath last week when the electric bill came. I"ll cringe when I open the next water bill and I'm only watering the trees, shrubs and perennials. Figure I have so much time, money and effort invested in those that I should at least try to keep them alive. I know other areas of the country have it worse, but I needed a pity party.

Hells no! We've only made it to the water park once this summer. We need another solid month or two of good weather to get our money's worth from the season passes.

We have not even had any 90 degree days yet. I am hoping starting this week & August we will have the 90 and 100 degree days that we normally have and then I will be ready for summer to end.

I am ready for school to start. My son is an energetic lump. He won't do anything - but then sits on the couch and kicks his legs. I am going to kill him. I can't wait for the weather to cool down so we can go outside. I can't wait for school to start so he has something to do. I can't wait for the AZ travel season to be over so his friends will come home and play with him. I can't wait for fall sports to start so I can wear him out. I'm done.

Move north crazy. I don't know how you guys put up with the temps down there.
Same thing for Thyme. I used to go nocturnal during the summer in Arizona, cause it's just too damn hot during the day to do anything.

The AC at work is set to 72 degrees - I'm freezing my ass off!
Plus, a house in your area would cost me twice what mine costs - but the salaries are remarkably the same.

Yeah but think of how much you'll save on your utility bills! Our house doesn't even have AC. Neither does my car, and I commute over seventy some odd miles a day.

Even if my utilities went to zero, it wouldn't be enough to buy a house up there.

Not here! It only lasts a couple of days, if even. Move southwest!

Oh you're one of those people. You still want money left over after paying the mortgage for retirement, vacations, booze, food, etc?
In all seriousness though, this area has gotten drastically cheaper than it was during the bubble. It's still expensive of course, but it's not insanely expensive anymore. I haven't seen a half million dollar plus house in a gang infested neighborhood in years.

I think we've had less than 20 sunny days so far this year. I could use a little summer.

Well - there's the rub. Our neighborhood has gotten drastically cheaper, too. So now, I would still sell my house at half of what i would have to pay.

.I've spent the whole summer trapped inside this house while carpenters, painters, floor people and everyone else imaginable spends the day here. Yes, the house looks nice, well, it's getting there, but my idea of summer isn't this. To me, this all could have been done in winter nd I could have enjoyed summer. But I am going to mackinaw island this weekend. For a LONG weekend.

I was ready for autumn way back in May. ;D We have 5 straight months of summer here (May-September), so I look forward to October/November every year. (We average 10 days over 100 in September, it's not really a "cool down" sort of month for us!) We're hot, dry, and verrrrry smoggy all summer ~ and I look forward to some fall cool weather, clouds and rain to clear out the air.

It's been in the 70's and beautiful since May here on the Left Coast beaches/LA LA Land. Where I live, September and October are usually the two hottest months of the year - so "summer" is still ahead.

Not quite yet. We've had a few warm days here, in the upper 70s, but nothing like summer.
Yesterday, when we were driving back from the shooting range, I have noticed that some trees are starting to turn already. Really?
NOT ready for another winter!

I want summer first before we get to fall. A nice stretch of days that I can pass lounging around the pool. So all of you summer haters just need to be patient for a little longer

No!!! Today was the first time we got to the beach! We still haven't gone to the town pool. Plus, DS needs to use the baby pool we got him for his birthday. AND I still haven't gotten myself a bike like I said I was going to this summer!!!

Summer just means tourists trashing the beach and bunch of kids running around. I much more prefer right when summer ends because the kids are back in school, tourists are gone and football starts up. Average temp year round is about 70 and winters are nothing, one of the few good things I can say about SoCal.

We have had exactly two weeks of summer so far & it is getting cold at night, so it already feels like fall!! Every year our summer gets shorter

I was through with summer by the end of May. It's been insanely hot here, and we planted about 50 trees and shrubs last fall to try to patch back the yard after we lost all our mature trees, so every frickin' week, if it doesn't rain, I've been dragging hoses over our 1 acre side yard trying to keep those little treelets from drying up and blowing away. I have a northern european body type - pasty white and subject to heat cramps when I get overheated, which starts at about 80 degrees.
Still I don't want to abandon the treelets - it took a lot of work to plant those suckers, don't want to have to redo it again this fall. I figure if I can get them through their first two years they should be strong enough to carry on alone after that, except in drought conditions.
We got a good rain today, so at least this weekend I won't have to drag the damn hoses around the yard..... although the rain will amp up the humidity to about a bazillion percent.
October can't get here fast enough.

I'm more of a length of daylight person than one who favors a particular season. The days are already getting noticeably shorter so summer is over for me. I feel winter on its way. Of course, the heat and humidity say otherwise.
