Cross country, wrestling and track. So yeah, I was only part band-geek. My senior year, I must have been completely cool since I was at a science camp during the summer, so no marching band or band that year. ;D

...define, "athlete" ;D ...iow, I did various team and individual sports activities in school and community level leagues, still do some community sports, but have never really considered myself "athletic."

In High School I was a Golden Gloves boxer and also had time for speech & debate, student council, and the school newspaper. Unfortunately, I was about to go to a big debate when I got my nose broken sparring a few days before. It was a freak accident but I didn't stand a chance at the debate as I sounded all stuffed up.
In the Army I regularly scored in the 260s-270s on my PT test (out of 300). Not bad for a non-frontline infantryman.
Now I'm in married suburban schlub mode and find it incredibly hard to get my exercise routine in.

Sooooo, when I was young, I was the kid who went to kick the ball for kickball, but kicked the TOP of the ball instead, flew up in the air and landed on her ass, just like on TV. I wanted to play basketball in 7th grade but parents wouldn't let me. I swam at the Y for years, but my parents never pushed sports and sadly I never did swimming in high school because I would have needed a push, which I didn't get. I was an orchestra and science geek, however! Now I hike and rock climb and swim and run.
