I bought a CD from a "performing artist" at a rest stop this past Sunday. I tried to listen to it today and there was no music on it.
So, I called him up and he apologized profusely and told me he will send me another one. (I might not live long enough to get it when my DH finds out I gave our address to a complete stranger)
So, any one wants to make any predictions if I'll get a new CD or did I just get screwed?

Yikes! Hopefully, getting screwed will be the worst thing that happens. No way in HELL do I give my home address to some street musician.
Good luck!

Was the performance artist a homeless guy with a trumpet?

I bet he's ripping his own CDs in his mother's basement. I bet it's an honest mistake.

Putting music on a CD isn't that expensive - so I'm guessing it is an honest mistake. Now, the quality of that recording can vary greatly, and if you get a recording that sounds like it was just done in a bathroom with a cell phone and then transferred to CD, then he would be a con artist.
My husband bought a CD from some guy once - $2. We have gotten great joy from that lousy rap CD. I've changed all the words from being very "street" to being very "Mom."

I'm sure it's just an honest mistake, too. The guy probably wouldn't provide you with a phone number if he were some con-artist. I'm just a bit paranoid of strangers.

I agree with G.E.L. that the fact you were able to get in touch with him at all is a good sign. I don't know any con artist that makes him/herself available after the fact.
If the second one fails, ask him to copy his music as .mp3 and send it digitally (assuming he owns the music).

So, the guy did send me another CD and even added one for the kids (he heard them in the background when I was talking to him). I still can't get them to play, so now I feel terrible bc I am thinking may be it has something to do with my only old stereo that I have, and not his CDs. Well, I'll take my DH take a look when he gets home. I am going to call the guy and thank him and wish him well in his future endeavors. I hope his other buyers have better equipment Lena

The CDs don't play because the intention is to get you to try them on your computer where they'll upload a virus enabling a terrorist group to remote access your computer and hack into the White House and DOD. That way, when the terrorists take over, the government will think you're the mastermind.
Look at the bright side, you'll probably learn all sorts of interesting things in prison.
Like how to make hooch in the toilet using canned fruit you've hoarded from your meals over a series of weeks. Or how to make your own shiv.

Supposedly hackers got control of an Iranian nuclear plant and all the workstations were playing AC/DC Thunderstruck.
