The parents of Trayvon Martin say they have a hard time accepting George Zimmerman's nationally televised apology. Last night, in his first interview since killing the unarmed 17-year-old, the former neighborhood watch volunteer said the shooting death must have been part of "God's plan" and that he prays for the Martin family daily news.yahoo.com/blogs/lookout/trayvon-martin-parents-reject-george-zimmerman-apology-130326614.htmlAww, it's that sweet of him. And why in God's name is his defense attorney letting him flap his gums on national TV prior to the trial?

Wow, he's dug himself such a deep hole that I am surprised he hasn't hit China by now.

From what I heard on ABC news this morning, his attorney's have "strongly advised" him to keep his mouth shut. The theory is that he has "enough legal evidence" on his side to get him off, so maybe he's being cocky about it.
The parent's response was "we must worship different Gods." I really hope this man starts laying out enough rope...

I agree. The lawyer is very self serving in my opinion to have him out there.

The theory is that he has "enough legal evidence" on his side to get him off, so maybe he's being cocky an idiot about it. Fixed. My former boss when I was an ADA used to be a defense attorney. He had a client who was charged with gang rape, it was a pretty high profile case. My boss got a call from one of the tabloid shows saying they had his client in NYC, had paid to fly him down and pay his expenses and wanted to know if he would like to be part of the interview. He went apeshit and demanded they stop talking to his client and reamed his client a new one. The guy gave the interview anyway.

I doubt very seriously the lawyer has anything to do with Zimmerman running his mouth, shoobs. In fact, as others have said, I'd bet the farm the attorneys have told Zimmerman to keep his big mouth shut and Zimmerman has decided he knows more than they do and he's gonna do what he wants ... so, he's out there shooting his mouth off. If I were his attorney, I'd tell him to take a long walk off a short pier if he can't do what he's asked and keep his darned head down!

I have a difficult time with google at work. Is there a transcript somewhere where a person can read his actual words, rather than the paraphrasing in the article? Cause right now, I want to shoot him.

What makes you think his lawyer has anything to do with it? Short of tying them to a chair in your office, you don't have much control over your client's actions outside the courtroom. I agree. The lawyer is very self serving in my opinion to have him out there.

Most people who are up on murder charges have enough sociopath in them to think they're smarter than their attorney...

HANNITY: Do you feel you wouldn't be here for this interview if you didn't have that gun?
ZIMMERMAN: No, sir.
HANNITY: You feel you would not be here?
ZIMMERMAN: I feel it was all God's plan and for me to second guess it or judge it --
HANNITY: Do you have any idea -- why do you think Trayvon would have confronted you the way he did? I made a comment on the air one day and I got beaten up pretty bad for saying this could have all been a terrible misunderstanding or mistake.
Do you think maybe -- is there any possibility he thought you were after him and you thought he was after you and there was some misunderstanding in any way?
ZIMMERMAN: I have wrestled with that for a long time, but I can't -- one of my biggest issues through this ordeal has been the media conjecture, and I can't assume or make believe.
I think what he meant was, it was not his time to die.. I don't think he murdered this boy.. many are divided on this issue.. but.. Zimmerman was the one with the injuries, consistent with the way he said things happened, he had a broken nose, gash to the back of the head.. its unfortunate that this happened. I do feel for the Parents of this boy

Zimmerman is the one that followed the guy even though he had already called 911. If some guy started following me, I'd try to kick his ass too.

Remember the lawyer works for the client. The lawyer can advise you to do something (i.e. keep your mouth shut), but the lawyer can not control what the client does.

According to the 911 and his statement, he did stop following him and Trayveon punched him. No, I would't kick someone's "ass" for following me. I think that's how all this started and how Trayveon lost his life. I don't mess with folks.. you never know who they are and what they are carrying.. Walk away and live

Zimmerman did NOT say the shooting of Martin was God's plan. He said - or inferred - that the fact he was there to do an interview instead of dead, himself, was part of God's plan.

Walk away and live Zimmerman would have had to be awfully close to Martin for Martin to punch him, so based on that reasoning, Zimmerman stopped following Martin when Zimmerman was about 3 feet away from Martin.

The whole doctrine of self-defense is that there must be a "reasonable" response, not escalation. I.e. if someone punches you, you punch them back. If someone has a gun to your head, you shoot them.
If someone punches you, you don't respond by shooting them in the chest. That is not self-defense.
And that's assuming Zimmerman had ANY justification for following Martin other than the fact that he was a black kid in a gated community.

I would just say,. it was my time to go.. Just sayin..

If someone punches me, I will shoot them. I would figure that more is to follow. That's of course, assuming I could actually be able to shoot them.

Zimmerman was on he ground.. getting the daylights beat out of him. He didn't know This boy from Adam or if he was going to kill Zimmerman, actually he said "you are going to die".. that statement in itself makes it self defense.
