I'm thinking about Five Guys or even Wendy's. I need beef. You'll likely have a lot better luck with five guys than with Wendy. Quick question though.... Please tell me it's not just any five guys at random.... ;D

We have a plan, but always seem to change at last minute. I freeze almost all proteins in individual use sizes (chicken breast, ground beef) or use IQF fish or shrimp. I rarely defrost anything ahead of time. When it comes time for dinner, I just defrost in microwave (chicken or beef) or in cool water (fish or shrimp). That way if we are off plan, I don't have anything that will waste
Last night was supposed to be a chicken meal, but DS ate a quick sandwich before going out with friends, and DH and I ate big lunches and were not hungry, so I just had a salad and he fixed something. The chicken is still frozen and we may have it tonight.

I've been trying to meal plan. This week, sirloin steak was on sale. I took it out of the freezer on Monday. Monday was 99 degrees and 110% humidity, so I didn't want it, it went back in the fridge and I had cereal. The kids had chicken nuggets Tuesday, I cooked the steak but it really wasn't what I wanted. What do you guys to when what you planned for dinner just isn't sounding appetizing at dinner time? don't meal plan....

IT's over quick, and I dn't have to clean it afterwards. Actually, eating when it's 100 degrees out doesn't sound appetizing, so I don't deal with it very often.

I grilled already this week and I don't have another grill meal. Luckily it's supposed to cool off, so I guess we won't roast to death while I bake the mac and cheese.

I use it for grilled cheese, paninis, and just about anything else I want to grill. It's great, easy to clean, and doesn't leave a mess. Love it!

You can't turn down beef, because according to the slogan, "its whats for dinner".
Your OP is exactly why DW and I don't bother with the meal planning. Neither of us are "on board" enough to see it through. Its not that we mind eating light, we do it sometimes. But we are not the types who would like to be governed by a list.

This will certainly date me, but in the words of my late, sainted mother:
"Eat what's on your plate. There are children starving in Biafra."

I made my soup last night and I thought it tasted great, but my kids were eating so slowly that I left and made my husband encourage them along. Jerks. Tonight I'm making spaghetti - they always eat that without any fuss. Sometimes you give in because you don't want to be one of those headlines about a mother that goes crazy and kills her children.

I think I'm doing breakfast for dinner. I need to break down the pound of bacon that's in the fridge, I may as well cook some while I'm at it.
thyme, what kind of soup did you make?

Since I live mostly alone, I cook whatever strikes my fancy. Tonight, it's maple-ginger salmon, mushrooms sauteed with onions and sour cream, and arugula-avocado salad with asian sesame dressing. I really like to cook. When my son was small, if he didn't like what I made, he could make himself a sandwich.

I add sauteed shallots and wine to this mixture. Red or white wine, doesn't really matter. I spoon it over baked potatoes, or pasta or even use it as a filling for an omelet. I've picked up phyllo pastry formed it into cups, filled it with this mixture and served it hot or room temp.
I love mushrooms! Not sure where I picked up my passion, since both parents hated them and we never had them growing up.
