Do you have any really big secrets that you keep from your DH, family or the world? (Like affairs, secret Swiss bank accounts, unusual hobbies, past indiscretions). I'm not asking you to spill the beans, just say if you have such a secret or not.
FYI Yes, I do.

Nope...I'm terribly boring! People probably assume I do though since my life is segregated and I generally don't disclose many details from one segment of my life to other segments of my life.
Relationship can know about family and casual friends. Best friend can know about relationship, casual friends and family. Family can know about work and casual friends. Casual friends can know about best friend and work. Work doesn't know anything.
It's all very confusing and if members from all segments were to ever throw me a surprise party where they all showed up my head would probably explode.

I will share a small secret. I vacation at nudist resorts. I do not share this with people that I work with or extended family.

I have a very big secret that I've told half the world. But not the people that are directly affected by it.

Most of my family knows. I just haven't told DF and my kids. I hope it dies with me.

I would not call it secrets but in the years I was a SAHM I did a LOT of PTA & Scout work-like a FT job+. I never told him much about that as he did not give a rat’s behind.
There is PLENTY I never told my mom & dad once I was of legal age. It was NONE of their business.

I always thought that if it wouldn't cause them any problems that it wasn't any of their business.

Secret-wise, you'd consider my life to be pretty boring. However, a lot of people have confided in me over the years. The saddest secrets are those who were sexually abused by extended family members. It was really weird, because around age 30, I think people stop blaming themselves for the things others have done to them, because that was the age that a lot of "secrets" came out.....

I've never kept a secret, but I'm not particularly good at it. Hell, I can bare keep the Christmas presents I bought a secret. I'm also pretty open about my life, but I haven't done anything shameful either.
DH kept a secret from me, misrepresenting himself to me before we even dated, through engagement and marriage. That didn't go over too well.
There's a HUGE difference between having secrets and having privacy. I grew up in a home where privacy=secrecy, and I'm glad I know the difference now.
I also do read post secret, it's part of my Sunday morning surfing.

I'm a very private person, but I don't really have any big secrets. There are things I've done that I'm not proud of, parents might not know about it, but other people would. I'm pretty boring.

I'm an open book (I'm pretty sure DH wishes I kept some things to myself - LOL!!) but I keep a lot of secrets that I've been told. I have so many of those I forgot most of them!

Do you have any really big secrets that you keep from your DH, family or the world? Not really. Except classified stuff that the man says I can't talk about. 99% of that is boring as shit anyway, so I can't imagine having a conversation with somebody about it even if I wanted too.

I keep our financial status secret from my family - - some of them are part of the entitlement crowd and would be all over me if they knew what our accounts looked like . . . plus they would b*tch about us behind our backs even IF we gave them money.
Is this a secret or is this just privacy (sanity)?

I have secrets, but only a few that belong to me. Most of them are other people's secrets.
And Lena, I'm with you - dying of curiosity over here ;D

I don't have any major secrets really but I don't tell people a lot about myself. My DH knows everything but we don't really go blabbing our business around to people. My parents have no clue what our hobbies or interests are and frankly I don't think they'd really care to know how we spend our weekends- it's boring stuff like flea markets and playing disc golf, etc. I only have one big secret that I am keeping from my husband right now- and that's regarding the huge 40th bday party I am planning for him. Going to do it months early to throw him off suspicion even more
