It is really sad how there aren't more places for the kids to go. I am traveling for work right now and I was reading a local paper at dinner last night. They had an add for a foster kid similar to the ones you see for animals in shelters. Joey is 3'2 with brown hair, he gets mostly B's in school, he like weather and thunderstorms, he really lights up when a weather broadcast is on TV and he likes going outside in a wind storm. Joey is not used to other children and would do better in a home with no children.....
I had never seen that kind of ad before and it made me very sad. I am out of state so I couldn't take him even if DH would agree.

I'd take some but now, thanks to liberal laws that keep these kids in their "homes" with their "parents" until they are so messed up they are practically feral, it's not safe to have them in my home. I will at some point open up my home to older ones but those are more carefully screened it seems. Or at least hide their issues better.
